Hey everyone, I’m Storm, founder of Vantage Golf. When I started Vantage, the goal was simple: put great golf technology in the hands of every golfer, regardless of income or background. Vantage actually started on the other side of the game. We built GPS screens and pace-of-play technology for golf courses first. That gave us an opportunity to build something different for golfers. Instead of relying entirely on golfers to pay for premium technology, partner courses can help subsidize it. And because the golfer and course are on the same platform, we can do things traditional GPS apps can't. At Vantage courses, golfers can get premium features included and, soon, interact directly with the course through things like in-app food ordering. Golf already has enough barriers to entry. A rangefinder is one. Course knowledge is another, whether that means knowing how a green breaks or how far a shot is actually playing. Even understanding what parts of your game are costing you strokes is often locked behind $100/year subscriptions, expensive equipment, or statistics books. Today, with the launch of Vantage Golf GPS, I’m proud to say we’ve knocked down many of those barriers. GPS, plays-like distances, green maps, shot tracking, and meaningful performance analytics are all in one fast, uncluttered app, with the core GPS experience completely free. We still have a lot to build, but the mission hasn’t changed: great golf technology should be accessible to everyone who plays the game.
