TradeVan started with a simple observation: many HVAC technicians spend more time managing paperwork than fixing equipment.
While exploring existing field service software, I found that many products were either built for much larger companies, expensive for small shops, or assumed a reliable internet connection. That doesn't always reflect the reality of working in basements, mechanical rooms, rural areas, or newly constructed buildings.
So I started building an offline-first platform focused on the needs of solo contractors and small HVAC businesses. The goal wasn't to build another all-in-one enterprise system. It was to create software that stays out of the way and helps shops manage work orders, scheduling, dispatch, quotes, invoices, customer history, and equipment records without unnecessary complexity.
The product has evolved through continuous iteration, simplifying workflows, improving offline synchronization, and focusing on reliability over feature count.
I'd genuinely appreciate your feedback—especially from contractors, field technicians, and small business owners. Knowing what works (and what doesn't) will help shape where TradeVan goes next.

How does the offline sync handle conflicts if two techs edit the same work order before reconnecting? That scenario comes up a lot in the field for us.

@metehankertik Thanks for pointing this out. At the momement the last edit wins. Handling the offline edit and other changes sync would be too complex. Since this application is specifically for solo and small shops the chances are less. However, we will be taking a look at this.

Offline mode is huge for the basement calls we do, that part alone is worth a try. One thing I'd love to see is a quick photo annotation tool right inside the work order so techs can circle the issue or arrow to the problem spot before saving to the customer file. Would save a ton of back-and-forth explaining things to the office.

@erkanaltnbkaas Thanks a lot for this feedback, it makes sense. We will study this see how we can include this change and mostly you will see this feature in tadevan within a week.

Love that the offline mode is built for actual field conditions like basements and not just a checkbox feature. Smart move making it work first and syncing later instead of forcing a connection.

@sudenur251418 We did the study and decided that the sync shouldn't be blocking the work. Also, no network or bad network shouldn't be a bottleneck.
