Topview Motion Studio
Launched this week
Motion Studio helps teams create polished launch videos for apps, hardware, and new products without learning After Effects or hiring a motion design studio. Reference images plus a style choice is a much narrower ask than a blank prompt box. How close does the first render usually land?
Topview
@yelyzaveta_kibets The first render usually gives you a strong direction rather than locking you into a final result. Clear reference images and a specific brief help a lot, and you can refine individual scenes in Canvas without regenerating the entire video.

@emily007 I assumed a fix meant regenerating the whole video, so I have been over-briefing everything up front. Scene level refine changes how I would do it.
put the interface doing the actual thing as frame one and cut the title card entirely. that was the whole gallery decision for me yesterday, everything after it mattered less. aaron oleary has said a weak gallery makes him skim past a listing, so its not only polish. what id want from motion studio is a mode that spits the stills out too. i built both by hand and it was the same story twice :)

@rabnoor_s This is incredibly thoughtful feedback. You’re right that the gallery and video are telling the same product story, so generating strong still frames alongside the video would be genuinely useful. Adding this to our feature notes!
@emily007 one thing thatll save you a round of iteration if you do build it. the best still is almost never the cleanest frame. sharpness and contrast scoring tends to pick mid motion filler, becuase those frames are visually calm and say nothing about the product. the frame that actually sells is the one just after a state change, while the thing that happened is still on screen and hasnt animated away. so index on the biggest structural diff between consecutive frames, then sample a few hundred ms after it rather than at it. you want the after, not the during.
This is awesome for indie hackers. How’s the rendering speed during peak hours?
Topview
@milad_nasiri2 Thanks! Rendering time varies by video complexity and demand. We’re continuously optimizing the experience to keep generation as fast and reliable as possible. 🙌
This feels especially useful for small teams where the maker is also doing all the launch content.
Topview
@nora_yu Haha exactly — somehow the launch video always turns into a whole second project. Really appreciate it, thank you!
Topview
@nora_yu Absolutely! Motion Studio could greatly help small teams create polished launch content without adding another time-consuming task to their workload! 🤩

Making the product is hard enough, then somehow the launch video becomes its own mini project this hits a little too close to home. Congrats on the launch!
Topview
@mi_leeli We know that feeling—the “quick launch video” somehow turns into a week-long production 😅 Thanks for the kind words and for celebrating the launch with us!❤️🔥❤️
Topview
@mi_leeli That “mini project” was painfully familiar to us too. Really appreciate you celebrating the launch with us!
Topview
@mi_leeli Seriously 😅 you finish building the product, then realize the launch video is basically another project.

Normally, making product videos is an absolute headache. You either spend forever wrestling with After Effects or drop a ton of cash on an agency. I gave this a spin and all I had to do was drop in a few screenshots and type out a quick brief. It automatically mapped out the whole product story and structured the scenes for me.
The best part is that it doesn't just spit out random clips like typical AI video tools—it actually gets how product launches work. It handles the music and sound effects automatically, so you don't have to waste time hunting down external audio. Plus, you can tweak individual shots directly in the Canvas interface instead of having to regenerate the whole video just to fix one tiny thing, which is a lifesaver when you're in a rush.
Bottom line: if you need to ship a product launch or app demo without burning all your time and energy, definitely check it out.
