Markets' are pretty irrational and a lot of the price is determined by the soft science behind it. What I love about the S-1 filings is, it's a collaborative doc written by a group of people so it gathers well-rounded perspectives and the stories and analysis that might not land up in the official fillings. It's like a commentary to the IPO match day with all the facts and figures for die-hard analysts. Can't recommend it enough!

An economist is strolling down the street with a friend. They come upon a $100 bill lying on the ground, and, as the friend reaches down to pick it up, the economist says, ‘Don’t bother – if it were real, someone would have already picked it up’. This joke, an example of economic logic gone awry, shows that though markets may be efficient, they may be less than rational. @mdagabriele's S-1 Club does the hard work of making the market more rational at an especially exuberant time - IPO day. By doing the work of deep-diving the financial filings of these companies that loom large in the public eye, the S-1 Club helps fill in the backstory for even the most passive investor, ultimately giving a deeper answer to the question of whether they should stoop down and see for themselves if that $100 is real or not.
