Hi Hunters, thanks for dropping by to check out Teletext.io! Thanks @bramk for hunting!
Okay, picture this: you develop some cool custom build website, using the latest tech stack and of course without using a CMS. But suddenly, when you grow, you realize every text change requires a developer to change the source code and to do a deployment, leading to lack of flexibility for both developers and marketers. Sure, you could add a CMS, but that means even more programming, not to mention the costs and security issues.
What if you could avoid all of this by adding just one line of code? You like that idea? Well, that's what we do. Teletext.io is a drop-in content management service. You can integrate it on any website by simply adding our javascript client and tagging your content. You can even add and edit multiple languages.
Check it out for yourself and try the demo. And please let us know what you think We'd really cherish your honest feedback.

@marcelpanse@bramk Question: are these changes visible to robots (googlebot, twitterbot, etc)? If not, a lot of these changes will affect users, but not search results / shares on social media
@avalera@ketacode All dynamically injected content will be indexed by Google, we tested this extensively before starting this project, you can find the test results here: http://www.centrical.com/test/go.... Bing & Yandex won't index javascript yet. In case you still want their support you could use our serverside solution, see: https://teletextio.zendesk.com/h...

When I first saw a live demo of this tool I knew right away this was every marketer's and CRO's dream. The changes are pushed live. It's really quite amazing. Unbounce on some Schwarzenegger steroids.. fantastic work guys.
@mhlavacka It works by adding a javascript on your website which will analyze the DOM at runtime, similar to what optimizely does (but simpler). Switching languages will download the new content on the fly in milliseconds.
@marcelpanse Many people compare products to others on product hunt. Probably ever messaging company for business is compared to Slack. They have to deal with that effectively and so do you. The better reply would be a case on why people should build custom website with a cms widget like yours vs other hosted options that have everything ready to go out of the box.
@therealcoryyork and i'm totally OK with that if people ask questions how it compares, like Oliver did above, but you are just trying to push your own product which is not cool.
Normally I'm kind of shy of these "one line of code" things, but I actually just implemented it on my homepage. Which is a node.js project with EJS template. Even the dynamic stuff I can manage. Pretty awesome Marcel!
Hey! Amazing concept :-)
One question: I've quite a few clients running their websites in Webflow, who would like multilingual sites. Webflow doesn't currently support this feature. Would Teletext be able to handle that?
Good luck!
@oliver_curting Definitely possible, but you need a paid plan in Webflow: https://help.webflow.com/article...
You can add the Teletext.io javascript to any page's head. Then right-click in the designer on the text that you want to have editable and open settings -> show all settings and add a custom data attribute (like data-txt="homepage.slogan").
I cannot demo it though, since I don't have a paid account. But after you have added it you can switch languages by using this javascript: 'Txt.refresh({locale: 'nl-NL'})'. This will switch to Dutch (which isn't there yet), but if you go to edit-mode, change the text and click publish, you will have a Dutch version. Finally simply create a language flag somewhere which triggers onClick the javascript I just mentioned.
If you have any questions come find me on Slack: http://slack.teletext.io.

@marcelpanse Thank you very much for your quick reply. I'm definitely going to try it out.
Who is most likely to use this product? My use case would be to teach clients to use this, in order not to get requests for small annoying changes, like "Make font little brighter".
@mhlavacka yes the developers will implement this, so they won't be bothered again with small text changes, but it will make the marketeers/content editors very happy since they don't have to wait a long time until their request is finally in production - they can just do it themselves.
