Meet Tappy, a little keycap who lives on your Mac's desktop. Tappy sweats when you type fast, gets dizzy when you slap your MacBook, eats when the charger goes in and naps when you're away. Coding with Claude Code, Codex or Cursor? Tappy chimes when your agent is done and sweats until you knock twice on your MacBook to answer. Plus 20 keyboard sounds, a lift alarm for café tables and Clean Mode for wiping the keys. Pay once, no subscription.

Hi Product Hunt! I'm Rudra, the maker of TapNoise.
Typing on a MacBook is quiet and a bit lifeless, so I built an app that gives every key a sound. Pick one of 20, from a deep thock to typewriter, piano, rain and paws, and switch from the menu bar in one click:
- 20 keyboard sounds, plus Song Mode, where each key plays the next note of a tune
- Tappy, a little keycap on your desktop who reacts as you type, levels up and wears hats
- Agent Sounds: a chime when Claude Code, Codex or Cursor is done, and a nudge when it needs you
- MacBook sounds: slaps, the lid creak, charger and USB chimes, and harder presses sound louder
- Guard Mode sounds an alarm if someone lifts your MacBook or pulls the charger, and Clean Mode holds the keyboard while you wipe it
TapNoise sees which key position went down, never the characters you type. Your typing never leaves your Mac.
It runs on macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on Apple silicon or Intel. Pay once: Solo for 1 Mac or Duo for 2, no subscription. Launch prices are on: the first 500 licenses are US$4.99 for Solo and US$7.99 for Duo, applied at checkout with no code to type.
I'd love to hear which sound you end up keeping on.
