@rustydingo Right? Also, it's a nice way to make sure my browser is actually using the correct audio I/O. (Surprisingly difficult).
Though I think they should incorporate something to indicate the microphone is also working.

@willimholte maybe you can say a command like "initiate self destruct" to test if your microphone works. Then if successful a countdown begins...
There are a lot of products in this space. Just off the top of my head: meetings.io, hu.tt, gotomeeting, and tons more. I wonder how this differentiates, if at all?
The things I've encountered that make people fall back to WebEx (the horror!), Skype, or others:
* no clear indication of max # of participants (failing silently is awful)
* no text communications
* no screen sharing
* insufficient controls (video mute for example)
* and more

Calendly and talky (or appear.in) combo makes it really easy to schedule a call with anyone. Why is there no "pre-defined" URL for joining calls in Blab, Google Hangout, or Unmute?

You can create your own room, invite by URL and optionally set a password. Without creating an account!
While you wait for others to join your chat, there's a funny little game called Lander built right into the interface.

This is a really great solution for instantaneous conference meetings with clients, people, anyone really. I will be using this instead of Google Hangouts from now on as that is always a process to set up, especially when the people aren't familiar with the product.
As @enricenrich said, would love to see a panel for text chat in case I wanted to drop some links, text in there. Also be great to turn camera on or off for those mornings where I'm conducting calls in my underwear.

Just tried it out for a video conference with a customer. Had to drop out because I didn't realize screen share was only available in Chrome. Was working well otherwise.
Pretty impressive conferencing - high quality, no audio issues. it's very easy to add the Chrome plugin for screensharing. My computer fan doesn't spin excessively like on other screenshare/video conference app.s
