Hey everyone! 👋 The idea for Syncmodo actually started out of our own frustration. We were working hard on a project, using individual Pomodoro timers to stay on track, but something felt off. We were working on the same goal, yet we felt totally isolated in our "focus bubbles." In this era of endless doomscrolling and constant pings, we realized that focus is a lot easier when you aren’t doing it alone. We wanted to build a digital space that felt like sitting at the same table with your team, even if you’re miles apart. The Journey: We started with a simple idea: a shared timer and a way to join a workspace. To be honest, we thought we’d breeze through it with some AI help. We built the entire frontend in Cursor, but we quickly hit a reality check. Syncing timers in real-time across different devices and time zones isn't a small feat! It took a lot of late nights (and many of our own Pomodoro sessions) to get the stability and "feel" just right. Along the way, we added the things we found ourselves wanting: Public & Private Workspaces: For deep work with the team or open sessions with the community. Atmosphere: Integrated music and themes to kill the silence. Presence: Simple messaging to stay connected without the noise of Slack or Discord. We’ve poured a lot of heart into making Syncmodo stable and usable. Our goal is simple: to help you reclaim your attention.
