Hey everyone 👋 Survivor Showdown started as a Google Sheet in a group chat. Every season, our friend group would track picks in Excel. Immunity, voted out, idols, bonus points. It got competitive fast. The sheet kept getting more complex, the formulas more fragile, and someone always forgot to update it. So we decided to turn it into a real app. We built it using Cursor and the latest models, leaning into what people are calling “vibe coding.” Small team, fast iteration, lots of late-night Survivor debates while shipping features. At the core, though, this isn’t an AI experiment. It’s just a game we genuinely wanted to play ourselves.
