I was bullshitting myself every day about being productive.
Wake up, open my laptop, start a Pomodoro timer, feel like a productive person. Eight hours later I'd accomplished maybe 30 minutes of real work. The rest was Twitter, Reddit, Slack, YouTube videos about productivity instead of actually being productive.
Tried everything. Website blockers (I'd just use my phone). Strict schedules (lasted 3 days). Motivational YouTube videos (made me feel worse). Those apps where you post what you're working on (I'd post then immediately stop working).
None of it worked because fundamentally I was still alone. No one actually knew if I was working or not. No one cared. Just me and my lack of discipline fighting it out every day.
Then I thought about college. I never had this problem in the library with friends. We'd all be there grinding, and I just... worked. Wasn't about discipline. If everyone else was still going I kept going. Didn't want to be the one who quit first.
It wasn't the library or the environment. It was other people being there.
So I built SupesClub. That's it. Recreate that feeling of working with people without having to go somewhere or schedule calls with strangers.
Why It's Better
Focus Mate: $5/month, scheduled video calls with strangers, rigid 50 min blocks. Awkward.
Caveday: $30/month, specific times, facilitated sessions. Expensive and not on your schedule.
Pomodoro apps: Just a timer. Single player. You vs your lack of discipline. Loses every time.
Discord accountability: People say they're working then disappear. No actual accountability.
Coworking spaces: $200+/month, requires commute, working next to strangers.
SupesClub: Free. Work whenever. Your actual friends. They see if you're really working or not. Can't fake it.
The difference: everything else is you alone trying to be disciplined.
This is working with people who actually keep you honest.
Humans work better in groups. Stop fighting it, use it.

Your actual friends can see if you’re working or not” — that line totally sold me 😂 accountability without the awkwardness.

I’ve tried Focusmate and CaveDay, and I completely agree; they felt too structured and a bit forced. This seems so much more effortless.
