Goksu Dayan
Hey Product Hunters 😸, I'm Goksu, the founder of Summ, and I am excited to introduce you to a tool that saves 60% of your time spent reading emails. 🤔 So, what is Summ? Summ provides you with concise, actionable summaries of your emails, delivered directly to your inbox at your preferred times — no more sifting through clutter or missing important information! Is it a product for you though? Based on my research, Summ works best for executives, tech workers, and busy individuals. However, if you think you receive way more emails than you consider necessary, Summ will work for you. 🕐 Reclaim your time: The average professional spends over 1.5 hours daily on emails. Summ cuts this down by 60%, giving you back nearly an hour every day. Just imagine if every day was 25 hours long. 👓 Actionable insights: Summ doesn’t just summarize your emails; it also suggests actions based on each email’s content, so you know exactly what needs your attention. 🔎 Stay focused and productive: Choose when to receive your email summaries and avoid constant inbox distractions. With Summ, you can check your emails when you receive a summary email and move on with your day, reducing stress and increasing productivity. 😌 Reduce stress and overwhelm: Summ filters out any unnecessary information, providing only what’s essential and saving you from email overload. 🕵️ Zero data retention: Trust is the most important asset Summ can have, and thus it prioritizes your privacy. Once you get your summary email, all data, except very limited analytics with zero identifiability, is removed from our systems. 🐣 Y tho? We all hate emails, and this is with quite good reasons. Everything on the net starts with an email address; whether you are signing up for a new product, or you were setting up your first smartphone. Yet, our relationship with emails became a pain in the ***. I consider reducing time spent on reading emails, among an infinite number of ways to improve email usage, to be a great start, but not a finish line; thus I started with this specific use case. Well, a little about me: After watching the indie hacking and startup landscapes from the sidelines for so many years, this is the first product that I actually built and launched on ProductHunt; so today also marks a very important milestone for me personally as well 🤓. ⚒️ How Summ works Summ is designed to work in the most convenient and simple way I could imagine: Once you complete onboarding, which takes only a few minutes, your summary emails get delivered directly to your inbox, without ever needing to visit the Summ website again. Instead of wasting time on reading emails with so much “garbage content”, just get the necessary information your attention truly deserves. Onboarding is as easy as pie 🥧: 1. Get your Summ email address: Sign up and receive your unique Summ email address. 2. Set your preferred schedule: Decide at what times of the day you want your summaries delivered. 3. (Auto-)Forward your emails: Start forwarding your emails to your Summ email address. Autoforwarding works best. 4. Receive your summaries: Enjoy concise, actionable summaries delivered to you at the chosen times. 🎯 Goals and future The primary goal of this PH launch is to gain some visibility, not gonna lie about that. But, more importantly, I truly want to understand your needs and relationship with emails better, whether you like or hate Summ, whether you use it or not. So, feel free to complain about your emails, your service providers, whatever here; all will help, and matter a lot to me! What lies in the future of Summ? This is a project that deeply resonates within me; I spent almost every free hour I had in the last 6 months on it, however, I was not able to generate sufficient interest to say "This is it!" so far. But, still, here are some features I'm considering implementing: - Web platform for granular control over everything that goes through Summ. - Newsletter library. - Add actions to todo apps with one click. - Block/Do not summarize lists. - Email categories. - Conditional triggers. - Actions-only emails. - Summaries as voice messages. 💲 Plans and pricing I understand Summ might not be for everyone, but I'd still love for you to give it a try. For this reason alone, every account starts with a 1000 email summary credits, for free, no credit card required. If you receive around 50 emails per work day, this will cover you for one month. If less, even more. If you decide to continue using Summ, you can move on to a paid plan: Monthly, Yearly, and Limited Lifetime options are available. 🎁 Use promo code: HEYPH To celebrate Summ’s ProductHunt launch (and my first PH launch as well), all Yearly and Lifetime plans will have an additional 25% discount with the promo code HEYPH, until Sept 12 2024, 00:00 AM UTC. With this, Summ is officially launched on ProductHunt 🥳. To save 60% of your time spent reading emails, use Summ. 🙏 Thank you Many thanks for supporting Summ. I couldn’t appreciate it enough. I will be around all day, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask. Additionally, I’d be delighted to hear about your thoughts, feedback, basically anything on Summ, your email usage or email productivity. If you’d like to get in direct touch, you can also send an email to solo@goksudayan.com. Hopefully, you will find Summ useful and love using it ❤️. Until the next launch, so long and thanks for all the fish. - Goksu

Hey Goksu! Excellent job here. Actionable summaries of emails will save a big amount of hours. Hope every maker can see the same and wish you all the best. Cheers!

💎 Pixel perfection
Congrats on the launch @goksudayan ! This is definitely a tool that resonates with me. When it comes to managing emails, I’ve essentially given up on reading most business-related ones, especially those filled with promotions and clutter. I tend to ignore my inbox altogether because I don’t want to waste time sifting through the 99% that’s irrelevant. But I know there’s valuable information buried in there. Summ feels like it could virtually expand my time (not only reclaim my time) by surfacing only what matters. I see great potential in this product and hope it continues to evolve!

@umisea Thank you so much for your kind words and support, Omi. I really like this "Extending time" phrase, do you mind if I steal it for the future :^) ? As I noted in my pinned comment, whether we like or not, everything starts and goes through emails; yet, using them became a pain. Granular control over emails, like selecting to ignore certain categories (promotional emails, newsletters, etc.) would definitely do that. I'd be delighted to hear more about your pains regarding email usage and how I could improve Summ; is it okay if I reach out to you on LinkedIn some time next week?
