Stackby is a platform that allows you to create databases and enhance them with direct API integrations. It's normal that Airtable comes to mind first, but the truth is Stackby integrates much more easily with other apps. And now they have PowerUps that make the job easier: importing, exporting, recovering deleted items... I'm a Stackby early adopter and actually I reviewed the tool a few weeks ago. The video is in Spanish, but I have included manually translated English subtitles.

I've been using Stackby for almost a year now. I've been using it mostly as an online spreadsheet, which is like using your Ferrari to drive two blocks to the 7-11 for chips. (You do have a Ferrari, don't you?) Its killer feature is its API integration. I'm just now starting to play with that. This gives it huge potential to bring in data from almost any source. The big negative is that much of this potential is still locked behind raw APIs that you will have to integrate yourself. They only have 42 pre-packaged integrations so far. That's not too big of a negative, because six of those integrations are workflow automation tools (Zapier, Integromat, Integrately, n8n, Automate.io, IFTTT). If you are already using one of those, most of Stackby's capabilities are open to you. I would still like to see a lot more native integrations. If you're willing to expend a bit of effort to wire some of this stuff together, Stackby's capabilities are mostly limited by your imagination.

It looks a lot like Airtable. Almost like a clone. Can someone help me point out some of the ways that Stackby is better than Airtable? And perhaps vice versa as well.

No doubt they are an inspiring company. With a primary focus on automation, Stackby differentiates from just being a modern database but much more than that. Few benefits of using Stackby : Full, pre-built API functions at column level : Stackby has native integrations with popular business apps like YouTube, Clearbit, Hunter.io, Mattermark and more. These can be integrated at the column level to pull information directly to your stack via those pre-built API functions. Just integrate your workspace, bring the API key, choose the API function to call and reference a data column to bring in information automatically. Configure once, and you’re set. In-built JSON explorer : When you call an API function for integration, you get the whole data (JSON) where you can select which data is to be shown at the column based on your API request. Airtable has Widgets, which offer pre-chosen data for the services; but we have curated list of popular business APIs from Stock (AlphaVantage), Lead Management (Clearbit, Hunter, FullContact), Funding (Mattermark), Translation (Google Translate), AI (Google NL), Video (YouTube), SEO (Ahrefs, Moz, SEMRush), Marketing Analytics (Google Analytics, Google Search Console) and some more exciting ones coming. Automation : You can refresh a single cell or select multiple cells to bring in the information of that particular row - all in real-time. You can also auto schedule the columns to bring information. On AT, you have nothing like this. More actions at columns : You can also convert a column to push a message via Twilio using SMS and WhatsApp APIs. Send reminders and updates to your team members or your clients, with a click of a button. Checklists and Reminders : You can not only add comments but also add individual checklists and set due-dates and automated reminders (Slack integration available) - all at individual rows. Powerups : We've various Stackby Powerups - Stack Export in Excel, Appending CSV to existing table etc. that allows you to do more with the data you have. Various other nuances : Newer layouts like detail layout, that allows anyone to create an updatable form to share within their team, collect responses and update the responses.

I have been using Stackby for 1 year now. Literally 24/7. I am managing my products, contacts, and other related data here. What i like the most is their support team who is very responsive. Many other Saas out there would ignore the clients after getting money. But Stackby is different! Now with Android app my team can easily track any data that they need everywhere on their phone! For you who need the next generation of Spreadsheet, you can consider Stackby!
