Sporadic is a free app that generates random exercise challenges. It’s targeted for people who don’t have a heavy workout routine, and don’t want one. They just want to find ways to stay active and do it in a fun way. Stay motivated and motivate your friends.
Hi all! Here’s the quick explanation of how our app works:
- Add your preferred exercises to a group (you can invite your friends!)
- Set the challenge range for each exercise (ex: run: 1 mile – 3 miles)
- Choose the days and time that works for you receive your challenges
At this point, you’ll start receiving random exercises from your group, and it will be at a random difficulty from what you set. You and everyone in the group will have 24 hours to complete the same challenge. Check out the video for a deeper dive!

@nolan_perry This is a great concept for a fitness app! The gamification element of creating challenges and competing with friends can be a powerful motivator.
Here are a few questions for further exploration:
- Can users customize the types of exercises included in the challenges?
- How does the app adapt the difficulty of challenges over time as users improve?
- Are there any social features beyond group challenges, such as leaderboards or messaging?
As a developer, I'm interested in how this app is built. Here are some potential areas for collaboration:
- Integrating with fitness trackers or wearable devices for automatic data tracking.
- Developing algorithms to suggest personalized exercises based on user data and preferences.
- Adding more gamification elements like badges, rewards, or virtual competitions.
I'd love to learn more about the technical architecture of your app and explore opportunities to contribute to its development.
Additionally, I'd be interested in trying out the app to see how the group challenges and random exercise selection work.
@max_savonin1 Hey Max, great questions! Users get to choose the types of exercises included in the challenges. They will only receive challenges for the exercises they want and have added to their group. It's up to users to increase their difficulty when they get better—it's very easy to adjust. In terms of social features, we have contemplated adding both leaderboards and messaging! These would be included in future updates.
Loving the idea of gamified, competitive casual exercising! A great way to keep people motivated to continue making small changes. Good luck with the launch!
Hey Nolan,
Does the app have any features for friendly competition or encouragement between group members?
How do you ensure the random challenges are safe and appropriate for each user's fitness level?
Congrats on the launch!
@kyrylosilin Great questions Kyrylo! You can fully customize the range which random challenges are chosen from, so they’re never too difficult for someone to complete. It’s very customizable! We currently rely on friends to motivate each other in person and through text, but we’d love to add messaging and nudging in future updates. Friendly competition sounds great! Thanks for the comment!
Wow, this looks like a fantastic way to spice up your fitness routine! 🌶️💪 I love how it adds an element of surprise and friendly competition to workouts. It's like Wordle meets Strava, with a dash of Russian roulette for your muscles! 😅
Compared to other fitness apps out there, this seems way more fun and engaging. It's not just another boring tracker – it's like having a mischievous personal trainer in your pocket!
Keep up the great work, and may the random exercise gods be ever in your favor! 🎲🏋️♀️
This is such a cool concept, @nolan_perry! I love how Sporadic keeps things interesting without the pressure of a strict routine. The ability to customize challenges and invite friends will definitely help with accountability and motivation, which is key for staying active. Can't wait to try it out and see how my friends handle the random challenges. Upvoted! 💪
