While testing Speechara.AI on mobile, we ran into a limitation that was not obvious at first.
On desktop, Speechara.AI can capture system audio from Zoom, Google Meet, Webex, and other meeting apps, then transcribe and translate the conversation in real time.
Mobile browsers work differently. On both iOS and Android, they can usually access the microphone, but they cannot reliably capture system audio from an online meeting playing on the same phone.
Using the microphone as a workaround does not solve the problem. Mobile operating systems intentionally reduce or suppress speaker audio during calls to prevent echo.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
We built Speechara because many meetings are hard in the moment, not just after the call.
Most AI meeting tools focus on notes and summaries after everything is over. Speechara is designed to help while people are speaking: live transcription, real-time translation, AI reply suggestions, and then summaries, action items, and searchable encrypted history after the session.
It is useful for:
- multilingual work meetings
- interviews in a second language
- sales or client calls
- lectures and online classes
- Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, and other desktop call workflows
We are still in beta, so we would genuinely love feedback on the core workflow, positioning, and what would make Speechara useful enough to keep open during a real call.
