speaking.app

The anti-rambling tool for interviews and presentations

Most AI speech coaches just count "ums." We rewrite your answers into what you actually meant to say. Record a messy practice answer and get it rewritten into polished STAR, PREP, or CAR format. Perfect for high-stakes interviews, AI screens like HireVue, presentations, or impromptu speaking. Whether you're prepping for a job interview or practicing Table Topics for Toastmasters, see the recruiter-ready version of your own story.

Hi Product Hunt! 👋

I'm Bjarte, the solo developer behind speaking.app.

I built this because I have a massive fear of job interviews. I used to spend days prepping, only to freeze or start rambling the moment the pressure was on.

I tried existing AI coaches, but they all did the same thing: count my filler words and tell me to slow down. That didn't help. I didn't need a word counter. I needed to learn how to structure my story so a recruiter would actually listen.

So I built an app that does exactly that.

Instead of just giving you a grade, speaking.app takes your raw, messy answer and rewrites it using frameworks like STAR, PREP, or Story Arc. You see the polished version of what you meant to say.

What's inside:

✅ Smart Rewriter: transforms rambling into clear, structured answers
✅ Interview Prep: practice for live interviews and AI screens like HireVue
✅ 15+ Frameworks: STAR, PREP, Story Arc, and more
✅ 500+ Practice Questions: for roles at Amazon, Google, Meta, and more

I'll be here all day. Would love your honest feedback!

Interesting idea, have you considered different modalities? Maybe a feed of interviewers that a user can scroll through one after another to get in isolated reps and build up their confidence?

@michael_seleman Hey Michael, thanks for the suggestion! Could you say more about what you mean by "feed of interviewers"? I want to make sure I understand the idea correctly.
