I built SnakeStreak because standard checklists made me bored, and I realized I needed a "consequence" (a virtual pet snake) to stay consistent. I m currently planning the next evolution tier for the snakes and want to know what works for you all.
Do you prefer:
Strict/Brutal: Losing progress/pet if you miss one day?
Forgiving: Having "Revival" items or streaks that don't reset immediately?
Social: Competing against friends on a leaderboard?
Let me know what keeps you coming back to a productivity app!
What happens if the pet dies, do you have to start over from scratch or is there some kind of recovery option for people who slip up after months of progress?
@tolgagqlu Great question! We completely agree that losing months of progress would be devastating, so we built in a safety net. As you stay consistent and build your habit, you actually earn 'Pills of Life.' If you ever slip up, you can use one of these pills to save your pet and keep your progress intact. It rewards your hard work and gives you a buffer for when life happens!
the virtual pet dying when you break a streak is way more motivating than i expected, way better than another habit tracker on my phone.
@zlem25873850395 This is the best compliment we could ask for! We realized that just checking off boxes on a screen wasn't enough to keep people going on the days motivation drops. The emotional connection and the high stakes of keeping your pet alive bring that necessary extra push. Thanks for being on this journey with us!
