Like all Lexus design, the board's design features a balance of crafted details, modern materials and technical innovation. Inspired by classic skateboarding and Lexus design principles, the result is the perfect balance of the natural and high tech.
@zolihonig Yes that was exactly what I was going to comment on. In order for magnetic levitation to work, you need a special magnetic track so this can't be used on regular sidewalk or roads.
Hmmm I don't know what to think of this without seeing it in action. The teaser makes it look really fake for some reason.. anyone else get that feeling?
Report
@thomasoffinga Yes. I think the vapors coming off of it did it for me.
Report
@thecorecreation@thomasoffinga I agree it's fake, but the reason for the vapor is the liquid nitrogen: "Liquid nitrogen cooled superconductors and permanent magnets combine to allow Lexus to create the impossible"
@to you may be right... but we all want to BELIEVE. 🙏
Report
@rrhoover@to why should we not expect at least a few prototypes? This isn't an early stage startup, it's Lexus.

@andythegiant@to and I wouldn't say Google Glass is/was a joke. The tech is still impressive and will be adapted into different VR/AR applications for sure.
@to Agreed, it's just a content piece in their series "Amazing in Motion". Scroll down to see their other hyper-fictional projects: http://www.lexus-int.com/amazing...
Didn't Hendo already do this in a Kickstarter campaign earlier this year? https://www.kickstarter.com/proj...
There was a lot of commentary on it, and it all seems pretty legit. They have plans to build special skate parks that will work with the magnets.
