Hey PH! I'm a WordPress developer who maintains a bunch of websites for clients — and I kept finding out a site was down after someone else told me. Some of my sites use monitoring services like Site24x7, but not all of them. And for the ones that didn't, I had no quick way to check. I also found myself wanting a single place to see all the sites I care about — not just to monitor uptime, but to quickly jump to any of them with one click. So I built SiteMon as a Chrome extension. It lives in your toolbar, shows a traffic-light status for every site you add, and lets you click straight into any of them. No backend, no account, no data leaving your device. The hardest part was the Pro license system — I wanted it to work completely offline so users don't depend on my server staying alive. Ended up using ECDSA cryptographic signatures for offline key verification. A bit overkill for a $6 tool, but it felt right. Hey Product Hunt! I'm the maker of SiteMon.

I built this because I was tired of finding out my sites went down hours after the fact — usually from a panicked client message. Every "real" uptime monitor I tried required an account, a server, a credit card, or a monthly subscription. I just wanted something that sits quietly in my browser and turns red when something breaks.

So I built SiteMon: a browser extension that lives in your toolbar and gives you a traffic-light status for every site you care about. Green = up, yellow = something's off, red = down. No sign-up, no servers, no telemetry.

What makes it different:
