Hmm, my iPhone already has option under settings > do not disturb. Looks like this app is for Android, though. That said, how does this app plan to compete when Android adds this option?

@nikkielizdemere I don't have an iPhone, but this seems to do something slightly different.
It catches when you turn your phone on silent/vibrate and asks you if you want to keep the ringer off indefinitely or some period of time. I cannot think of a time when I don't actually want to turn the ringer back on after some time, so this integration is really useful for me.
Also, looks like scheduling on the iPhone requires a few more moves and can only schedule one thing at a time (though I can't test directly and am relying on reviews), which would be really good for a repeating time block like sleep. Something like Shush! would pair well for using for impromptu uses.

@redroselet Hi Liz, thanks for your reply. It's actually really easy to just go to settings, do not disturb, and select a from and to time to schedule when I don't want to receive calls and alerts and specify which individuals would be an exception. Because it's for the same time every night, I can see how an app like Shush! might be useful for a situation like taking a nap, but still wonder how apps like this last in the marketplace if the OS were to integrate these exact features.

@nikkielizdemere It would definitely be nice if the OS's integrated these features, but I think I would find what I use Shush! for difficult in iOS, too. I'd love for both the iOS and Android teams to better handle my use case.

@nikkielizdemere I'm glad this was posted to remind me, I used to use Shush! a lot on my old phone but after installing a new Rom (Cyanogen), I forgot to reinstall it.
The best use case in my opinion besides naps is what @redroselet mentioned -- turning it off isn't hard, remember to turn it back on is very difficult! :) Attending an event where you want your ringer off completely, not even vibrate you can confidently do that and set exactly how long at that very moment on screen you want it to stay off. Very flexible.
Of course this and other apps have been around for a while so not sure how "hunt" worthy it is but there's always something someone knows about that someone else doesn't right? I don't really have a need for it anymore but the other type is GPS or Wifi signal based --- when you arrive at x change settings to y. Great to avoid embarrassment at the library or movies for example hah. Or to turn the ringer back on loud when you get home because you are about to empty your pockets or put down your purse and not know your phone is ringing in the other room.
