Shotomatic captures, schedules and scripts screenshots on Mac so you can archive your favorite content, create timelapses, record bug reports and tutorials without lifting a finger.
This sounds like a fantastic tool for those of us who love to dive into lengthy content and make the most out of it with AI tools. Automating the process is a game changer. Kudos for creating something that fills this gap and makes our digital lives easier! Can't wait to try it out. π
@alex_cloudstarΒ Really appreciate the kind words. That means a lot!
I built it for that kind of deep dive workflow, so itβs amazing to hear it resonates.
Hope it saves you tons of time π Iβd love to hear how it goes once you try it!

Interesting. However, I am thinking about who needs to take hundreds of screenshots? I am sure there is a market but just curious. I do take screen shots but with meeting recordings it has significantly decreased.

Nevermind. I read some comments below and makes total sense. Good to know. Will keep this tool in mind.
@gurungtashiΒ Thanks for the thoughtful comment, Tashi! Yeah, itβs definitely a niche use case, and I think I should work more on delivering the value in a clearer way to avoid confusion π
Appreciate you taking the time to read through the thread and keeping Shotomatic in mind! Let me know if you start to use it and have any feedback.

Dude, this is a really, really good idea :D
Took me a minute to understand just from the video (at first I thought you were switching pages that fast lol) but then I read the full description
@nerf_caffeineΒ Haha thanks so much! Yeah, I realized after posting that the video might make it look like I have superhuman reflexes π
Really appreciate you taking the time to check it out. It means a lot!

Shotomatic β Automate endless screenshots in seconds
Hey Product Hunt!
Ever needed to archive a long article, ebook, or chat thread β but dreaded the 100+ manual screenshots? I did too. So I built Shotomatic, a lightning-fast macOS tool to automate the entire process.
What it does:
Set your own screenshot interval (e.g. every 500ms)
Simulate keystrokes between shots (arrow keys, page down, etc.)
Choose capture mode: entire screen, app window, or custom area
Use cases:
Save long articles/ebooks for offline reading
Feed full documents into ChatGPT or Claude
Capture scroll-heavy UIs for UI/UX reviews
Archive ephemeral content like live chats or dashboards
If youβre tired of βscroll β screenshot β repeat,β Shotomatic will save your sanity (and your wrist π ).
this looks super clean! been looking for something like this for ages (β―οΈ΅β°)
honestly feels like a much smarter version of canva's video tools - way more focused on what actually matters for product demos. the ai suggestions are pretty solid too, saves me from overthinking every single cut.
we've been struggling to repurpose our long-form demo videos for different platforms and this might be exactly what we needed. instagram stories, tiktok, linkedin posts - all have different aspect ratios and it's been such a pain manually editing everything.
excited to test this with our upcoming feature launch videos! the batch processing looks like it'll save us hours.
congrats on the launch team, this is gonna help so many product folks like us α( α )α
