I built ShotGrab because every shoot day I was doing the same things: plug in a card, drag files, rename folders, hoping nothing got corrupted. Last year at a big festival, shooting and editing on the same day, I misread a filename and lost 100 files for good. So I made an app that does all of this automatically. Plug in a card, ShotGrab recognizes it, copies everything into the right project folder with a name/date structure you define once, verifies every file byte-for-byte with SHA-256, and skips anything already imported. You just keep shooting and swapping cards. It also has some really nice features: safe auto-eject, backup to a second drive, multiple cards from different readers copying in parallel and a funny mascot.
