I built ScreenNote to fix one small thing that annoyed me every single day: I'd paste a screenshot into Claude, then immediately type a paragraph explaining what it was even looking at — "this is the error, ignore the sidebar," over and over. Do that 30+ times a day and it's real time gone, plus tokens spent describing context the image already contained.
So I made the screenshot describe itself. You snip a region, type one line, and ScreenNote bakes the note into the PNG's metadata + a .md sidecar + a rolling index.md. Then you just point Claude Code at the folder and it reads the image AND the context — no re-explaining.

@selahattinkucx Thanks for asking, Selahattin. The important part is that the note is baked directly into the PNG metadata, so the screenshot itself carries the context even if you rename it, move it, or save it for later.
The index.md is more like a convenience layer for Claude Code / Cursor / Codex because coding tools can scan Markdown faster than digging through image metadata like little software raccoons.
So the core idea is: screenshot now, explain once, and the image keeps the note with it. The index just makes large folders easier to work with.

The Markdown sidecar and index.md are there to make it easier for AI coding tools to scan and understand a full folder, but they’re not the main trick. The main trick is that the image is no longer just a random screenshot. It already has the note inside it.
That means less copy-paste, less re-explaining, and fewer tokens wasted on “this red thing here is the bug,” because apparently that became a normal human workflow somehow.
