Have you considered adding a direct export to journal-specific templates like Nature or Cell? It would save so much time formatting figures to their exact specs, especially for the multi-panel ones.
@dursunkune Great suggestion — this is exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for!
Just want to make sure I understand correctly: are you thinking of something like selecting a target journal (e.g. Nature, Cell), and then having the plugin automatically set up the canvas to that journal's specs (width, max height, font, DPI) and arrange your panels into a ready-to-submit figure?
If so, we actually explored this direction. The tricky part is panel arrangement within a fixed canvas size. If you don't allow resizing the individual panels, you end up with a lot of awkward white space. But if you do allow resizing, panels that were made at different scales end up looking inconsistent — font sizes don't match, line weights vary, etc. Honestly, I think figure layout for publication is something of an art — and we haven't been able to crack it in a way that feels good enough to ship. I've seen some indie developers on RedNote building standalone tools specifically for this, so it's clearly a real need that people are trying to solve.
That said, I'd love to hear more if you have a different workflow in mind — always open to revisiting this if there's an approach I haven't considered!
Finally a plugin suite that gets the tedious parts of figure prep right. The lane numbering tool in WesternBo saved me way more time than I expected on a blot revision.

If you haven't tried it yet, check out the molecular weight marker tool in WesternBo as well. It can save you even more time, especially when you're processing raw immunoblot data and need to label multiple markers across strips. That used to be one of my biggest time sinks during revisions.

Finally something that gets the small but tedious parts of figure making. The scale bar and channel split tools in ImageXi saved me more time than I expected on a microscopy figure this morning.
The phrase bank in ChartEr is such an underrated touch, saves you from staring at a blank caption box wondering how to phrase your p-values for the tenth time.
