Hi Product Hunt, I'm Max. I have built apps under Maddisys — small practical apps, which include Scano3D. It started from something that is my hobby and I needed to replace a broken part around the house and thought, I've got an iPhone with LiDAR, this should take five minutes. It did not take five minutes. Every scanning app either wanted me to own a laptop and know Blender or handed back a mesh that looked fine until my slicer told me it wasn't watertight and just refused to print it. So Scano3D is basically me fixing that for myself. Describe something and it builds a real mesh or point your phone at an object, and it scans it and strips the table and floor out on its own. Either way it runs through one "make this print-ready" step, because I got sick of manually welding vertices at midnight before a print would even start. Also, not only does this allow you to use your imagination to create different object, but this also gives people the possibilities to create un-create toys before for their children, in different colours and different materials! After you have created your design, it allows you to use a 3D printer to print out your design. The bit I use most, is the chat memory. I'll design something, walk away for two weeks, come back and just say "make it 15mm taller" — and it remembers exactly what I was building without me having to re-explaining the whole thing and possibly forgetting what I wanted to create before. Small detail, but it's the one that made this feel like mine and not just another scanner app. It also doesn't want your data. Scans and models sit on your phone, nowhere else and no other locations apart from your phone! If you try it, I'd genuinely like to know what you scanned or made, and where it annoyed you and where it impressed you!
