Samong (สมอง — Thai for "brain") is a visual note-taking app: an infinite whiteboard where PDF highlights become linked cards and mindmaps build themselves. Free to start.

Tried importing a research PDF and watched it break into highlight cards on the board, which felt way more useful than just re-reading the file. The auto-linking into a mindmap saved me the usual grunt work, though I wish the free tier had more shape options.
Love how the highlights auto-link into cards, saves me a ton of time on research. One thing I'd wish for is a way to export the whole mindmap as a clean Markdown outline so I can drop it into Obsidian or Notion without rebuilding it manually.
Dropped a few PDFs on the canvas and watched highlights turn into actual nodes in a mindmap without me dragging anything. The infinite zoom feels smooth and the linked cards keep my scattered notes from collapsing into chaos again.
the way pdf highlights turn into linked cards on an infinite board is genuinely clever, feels like the app already understands how you think before you do
@neclapzxa Thank you!
