@kodjima33 congratulations on the launch. When will the wearable be ready?
Vincent Delitz
@kodjima33 sounds very interesting. I'll try it out - congrats on the launch! :)

@kodjima33 @vincentkoc Hey! The app is live and ready for everyone to try, and we are iterating on the product at every waking hour :) wearable is planned to start shipping by end of Q1!

@kodjima33 good luck Nik, it is exciting idea.👏👏

@kodjima33 Wow! Congratulations on your launch! Rushing to your website to try out. Also followed you on Twitter to stay in touch :)

Interesting concept, congrats for putting it together! I think data privacy is more important in this matter than anything. The concept is definitely cool, but how is the data stored? Is it stored locally and every computation takes place locally in the pin or a phone via Bluetooth connection or something? What kind of data do you collect? Just speech-to-text or location, as well?

GJ for this launch!

Am I the only one here who would not use this? Don't get me wrong, I wish the makers all the best and find this fascinating from a technical/implementation perspective. But from a personal & moral perspective, I'm a bit too worried about data privacy and making myself 'naked' to tech. @kodjima33 How do you address people like me? Do you want to convince me otherwise? :)
Lukas Rüger
@elena_malneva Unfortunately you're right - if spied on already, we might aswell use it for ourselves. It'll be interesting to see how this all pans out in the future!
AnhPhu Nguyen
@elena_malneva @lrueger No yea these are totally fair concerns--I personally think that this feeling will come to pass just like other past technologies. 20 years ago before phones, nobody put their social security numbers, where they live, health records, or facial recognition on their device; but that's completely changed today, mostly because it brings utility/convenience, and the tech is generally trustworthy enough for us. Using AI on ambient conversational data (and eventually visual data) will bring people a ton of value to improve themselves. We're hoping to build this as secure/trustworthy enough to make you feel good about it in the long term, see my reply to @dank0r on what were doing right now for privacy, and really interested in your thoughts! :)

Congrats with the launch! I heard of AI wearables like this, and it's truly a wonderful technology that could replace smartphones in many day-to-day workflows. I'd like to try this out, but I have one concern. How does Sama AI ensure user privacy and data security?
AnhPhu Nguyen
@dank0r This is a very good concern. We currently use a secure backend with SOC 2 and ISO compliance, and all audio is immediately destroyed after it's transcribed. Transcriptions will be editable/deletable whenever you want, and when we launch our wearable, all transcription will be done on-device, and only when you chat using our Chat APls will your encrypted data go to any server. In terms of privacy for others, the device will have a visible light when it is recording, and can be turned off with a click. We are also working on speaker diarization to potentially cut out the voices of friends who don't want to be recorded! But the memories themselves are simply transcribed text summarizations. No voices are saved, and because they're editable and deletable very easily, they can't be used to incriminate or used with malice on others.
Andrea Grasso
@anhphunguyen1 this should totally be in your website. Privacy is, rightly so, the number one concern for many when it comes to these new type of devices :)
AnhPhu Nguyen
@tananodes Agreed--our app links to aisama.co/datausage, and you can see it there. We will put on main page too for you :)
Sam Mendel
Very cool, love the concept of proactive notifs in this format. Curious if you could speak to how you ensure user privacy and data security?
AnhPhu Nguyen
@sam_mendel Hey Sam--see my original reply to @dank0r. We're still working on how to build this with privacy and security in mind, so any feedback would be great!
Esus 🛡️
Congrats on your launch! (prelaunch haha :) ) Do you have any videos of the app out in the wild? Would be neat to see or hear how you use this day-to-day.
AnhPhu Nguyen
@esus We don't have videos in the wild but have been using it ourselves + a few dozen beta testers. You can try the app yourself on the website! We have something useful but are iterating non-stop based on user feedback :) Day to day, you just press record and leave the app! For better transcriptions, just connect an airpod. iOS stops recordings when you play certain audio or take calls, so you have to restart transcription, which is what our wearable will solve.
