Rungeist is a Mac menu bar app for developers, AI builders, product managers and designers. It shows every dev server, port and Docker container on your machine, grouped by project, with live CPU and RAM. Open, restart or kill any of them in one click or from the keyboard. Unlike lsof or Docker Desktop, local processes and containers sit in one list. No telemetry. Free download, one-time purchase.

I got tired of asking myself: “What the hell is running on my Mac?”
If you build software, you probably know the drill.
lsof -i :3000
docker ps
“Wait… which project is using 5173?”
“Did I leave that server running?”
“And what did Claude just start?” 😅
I built Rungeist because checking your development environment shouldn’t feel like detective work.
It sits in your menu bar and shows you every dev server and Docker container, grouped by project — with port, uptime, CPU/memory and more.
From there you can open, restart or kill a server with one click. No terminal. No hunting for PIDs. No accidentally killing your shell or your agent session.
And yes, it also catches those mysterious servers your AI coding agents leave behind.
Rungeist is basically “What’s running?” for developers.
It’s a tiny macOS app, no account, no telemetry, and a one-time $14.99 license instead of another subscription.
I’d love to hear from other builders:
What’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve found still running on your machine? 👀
After 15 years of dev, I still can't remember those commands, I guess your app will finally stop me from copy pasting this command every time
@monocursive Great! Hopefully Rungeist finally retires your copy-paste habit for good 😄 Would love to hear how it holds up in your setup!
