Limitless is genuinely one of those products that changes how you work if it clicks with your brain. Imagine having a perfect recall of every meeting you've been in, every link you've sent, every conversation snippet worth remembering—that's what Limitless is gunning for. I tested it over a few weeks, and the "Ask Limitless" feature became my secret weapon. I could ask questions like "What did we decide about the Q3 budget?" from two months ago without digging through email or Slack history.

The hardware pendant (which is their flagship product) is a clever play—you're not expected to be holding your phone constantly, so capturing voice and context becomes more natural. For someone with ADHD or just a busy mind that juggles a thousand threads, this product is genuinely therapeutic. One reviewer nailed it: "I don't have to keep track of a million things at once." That's the win.

What needs improvement

The elephant in the room: Limitless now reveals that Meta owns it, and they're sunsetting the non-pendant functionality. This creates real uncertainty for users who don't own the pendant hardware. The transcription accuracy, especially across languages, isn't flawless—I tested it with a mix of English and some Vietnamese phrases, and the non-English parts got garbled. Battery drain is a legitimate complaint I can confirm: running Limitless all day definitely impacts your phone's battery life noticeably.

Also, the subscription pricing (before the Meta acquisition made it free for pendant users) was steep, and the value proposition requires you to truly adopt the habit of constant capture. If you only use it occasionally, you're paying for unused potential. Regional availability is also limited, which matters if you're outside the US or EU.

I looked at Grain and HyNote as alternatives, but they're solving different problems. Grain is focused on meetings specifically and makes beautiful clips. HyNote is about aggregating diverse content sources. Limitless is ambitious in a different direction—it's trying to be your external brain, capturing everything and letting you search and ask questions later. That's a bigger problem to solve, which also means bigger technical challenges. The fact that Meta acquired Limitless tells you something about its potential, even if the product itself is in a transition phase now.

The Rewind app has saved me multiple times when my app crashed or my kids accidentally deleted my text by allowing me to recover the messages I had typed. However, I cannot say it's perfect yet for a couple of reasons: It consumes a significant amount of battery life. It lacks multi-language support for features like search and transcriptions. The summary feature could be improved. I understand that Rewind faces a more challenging task compared to most summarizing apps, as it needs to summarize long sequences of text rather than just a single meeting. Despite these drawbacks, Rewind has proven to be a valuable tool for me!

I have adhd and this has kind of changed my life. So much of my life is starting something, getting distracted by something else, and then completely forgetting what I was doing before, where I found useful information, etc. It has really been a game-changer for me. It also takes better meeting notes than I ever have. I downloaded it on a wim on launch, and even though I don't use it every day when I do, it saves me so much time trying to remember where I found or read something, and it saves me worry all the time because I am not trying to keep track of a million things at once. I had to come back and write a review.

Well, you guys are building up something interesting here! Just tried the “Ask Rewind” feature and got an extensive reply of where is the recycling station I was looking for, based on a screenshot I took inside Google Lens. The app was able to point out that I was using Google Lens to translate from Thai to English, and reminded me of the types of plastics that are accepted at the recycling station. Now, any plans of including photos as well? If I can ask Rewind: “What is the name of the florist where I bought roses for my girlfriend?” —assuming that there is a photo that shows the facade and that I'm giving permission to check the metadata— well, that would be a game changer.

Interesting idea and execution thus far is impressive! I have one question regarding privacy. >. For your privacy, we store all of the recordings locally on your Mac. Only you have access to them. Compression and Automated Speech Recognition (ASR) is all done locally. Recording data is never sent off of your machine. Although recording data might not be sent off the machine, usage of GPT-4 does imply you're sending sensitive data to OpenAI (and thus off the machine). Presumably you're embedding user's screen and audio data locally, which means that potentially the embedding process and definitely the response generation process both send data to OpenAI, which is a privacy concern. Do you plan on implement on-device models in the future, as way to mitigate this?

I have a traumatic brain injury, so remembering things can be a bit of a pain, finding myself redoing the same things a few times over in slightly different ways. Since I’ve been using Rewind, I’ve been able to put an end to a lot of that, and with it get things done a lot faster, not just with work but also in my personal life. It is hands down the single most important tool I use today, and is an utter joy to have. Rewind is a search engine for ideas, and lets you return to the mindset when you had them, and understand why.

It's useful to be able to recall docs, images, video/audio replays and recall a specific part of the videos you watched. Definitely , the most easy to use and useful manifestation of a Second Brain concept. With latest GPT query, it should make search and recall a lot more natural and interactive to narrow down the contextual results and more benefit having longer history. The cons: Storage requirements is huge though and is being looked into. They promised good news soon! Secondly, it does have an impact on my battery life and cpu usage. So I am careful when I am remote untethered on battery and trying to multitask.

As a musician, artist, and consultant, I initially thought this tool might serve one of my niches well. I have been delighted to see its use in all areas of my workflow. Meetings are less stress now that I can fully engage in the meeting and go back later to read through transcripts. I'm happy to see that features are constantly rolling out, and the core feature of going back through what I've done on my computer visually on a timeline has saved my hide on more than a few occasions (had a database get deleted and had to go back through previous build to find designs I used and codes I implemented into websites, had to reference websites I pulled up during meetings that I didn't have saved, etc.). Love the team, love the mission, love the product. A++++

From the onboarding process, to actually using the tool for the first time, and then on subsequent days Rewind is legitimately kind of magical. With respect to the search and timeline features (not the *great* meeting transcription features from Scribe) I can see it becoming a mainstay for any and everyone for maintaining flow across projects and time. Really reduces the cognitive overhead of finding and remembering things I've done during my day to day. It used minimal resources and the fact that it's all local alleviates all my general privacy concerns (that and it not coming from a bigger tech company). While I can imagine a couple of UX changes that might need to be made to selectively prune and improve scrubbing through your history after long-term use as well as tweaks to ignore certain portions of sites so its not flooded with useless info (currently you can just block the site entirely) I can confidently say in its current form it's legitimately game changing. I have real faith the team will be able to add even better, smarter features on this solid base.

Amazing free plan, it lets you put the pen and paper (or notetaking tool of your choice) aside and concentrate on what's happening in front of you. Mild annoyance (or maybe shortcoming on my part) that I often forget to stop recording. But this doesn't affect the operation of the software, and is only a minor issue. All in all, would recommend!
