Remote Woman offers trusted sources for remote opportunities. I had to transition from corporate in order to have a flexible schedule that would allow work-life balance. Along my journey I found it hard to get a hold of a point of contact for most job board sites. What I love the most about Remote Woman is the fact that Jaira and the team care about the candidates as much as they care about the companies on their site. I highly recommend Remote Woman.

I've just spent the morning looking through all the job ads relevant for me and it's been lovely. The wording of the ads have made me feel that I can apply even though I don't tick all the boxes. The interface is great. I've not worked remote but am looking to make the move and this site has helped. Great product.

I appreciate the sentiment here, I just don't personally find value in utilizing the site unless it has jobs that aren't listed elsewhere. I did not check to see if I could find every single listed position on LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Indeed, etc, but most of these are from major remote employers who heavily promote on the aforementioned sites. Particularly in the case of 100% distributed companies, the demand dramatically outweighs the supply; accordingly, the applicant pool is extremely competitive, and (I assume) that most viable candidates don't need an additional site to identify the opportunities. I give it a neutral recommendation because perhaps others will appreciate it more than I do. If it helps someone else, then great.
Beyond "it's not for me," I am bothered by some of the fundamental claims/assumptions, but I don't think they're worth getting into.
I wish the creators good luck, and I'm happy to discuss more offline if desired.
Pros:
It has a selection of remote jobs. The intention is good.
Cons:
I don't see the value prop above the existing multitude of free sites that already have these postings.

Remote Woman and Jaira empowered me by helping me connect with brands and companies out of state. As a successful freelance Art Director, having a reliable connection and platform that encourages women (and men) to grow regardless of race or location, is amazing! I highly recommend working with Remote Woman :)

I'm having a great experience so far, I appreciate the outreach work being done as well!
Not related to my job search, but thank you for not shying away from articulating why this listing service/community should exist.

How exactly do you shortlist the women-friendly places to work?
@geekybruno thanks for the question - bear with me here. First, we gather lists of companies that have potential (both through our private community nominations + companies can apply directly). We then go through a 7 day review process for the companies that has 5 key steps:
1) remote-friendly (we prefer companies that are fully distributed & have a strong culture tied to remote living)
2) full-time (we prefer companies that are looking for long-term, full-time hires instead of contract work)
3) no red flags
a) we review their Glassdoor accounts
b) we do blind background checks involving reaching out to current employees on
Linkedin
c) we allow our community to flag/report bad companies on ongoing basis
4) stable business model (we prefer companies that have a current revenue stream, have raised money or are profitable)
5) variety of job offerings (we prefer companies that offer a wide variety of jobs across marketing/design/support/development)
Like everything, this is an evolving process as we learn about our community's needs. If you think we're missing anything, please respond here or contact us at hello@remotewoman.com :)
