Hey Product Hunt 👋🏼 We’re the creators of Refinery. Refinery is a chrome extension that lets you improve your copy in 3 steps. Get AI generated suggestions, make edits in-browser, then publish them live immediately. While going through Y Combinator’s S20 batch with a totally different product, there were so many times when we wanted to quickly change some copy in our web app, but didn’t want to start our dev environment, open our text editor, make the change, create a branch, create a PR, … you get it. Luckily our team is 3 engineers, but it got us thinking about how our first marketing or sales hire would make these changes. This led us to build a prototype for Refinery. The first version included the ability to make edits and push them live. Our alpha testers (typically non-technical folks like founders, PMs, marketers) were happy to be empowered to make changes without engineers, but they also revealed a new problem to us: they weren’t sure what copy to use in the first place. We recently added the ability to generate GPT-3 powered suggestions, so you can avoid writer’s block and discover copy that’ll (hopefully 🤞) improve your conversions. We’re also working on a crazy new feature that lets you generate the corresponding code changes from your edits automatically. Installation is really easy. Install our chrome extension & optionally add our JS snippet to your web app and that’s it. We’d love to hear any feedback or questions and will be responding here all day! Tell us how well (or not so well) the suggestions turn out! As a bonus, we’ll bump anyone who joins our waitlist today to the top of the list so you can start using Refinery immediately.

Making minor website copy changes take 2-3 weeks in fast growing companies. I would love to try the product. Congrats on the launch.

@oyeakhil haha, to us ex-FB/Uber/Twitter engineers 2-3 days sounds fast :). Would be happy to onboard you! Send us a note at team@refinery.so

Everyone's felt the pain of logging a ticket into the backlog for a simple text change. I'm curious: How does this compare to Jam?

> Everyone's felt the pain of logging a ticket into the backlog for a simple text change. Yes, exactly! And it feels silly to ask engineering to work on a text change when there are so many other important product features they are busy with. > How does this compare to Jam? Jam looks like an awesome product! The major difference I see is that Jam looks to be focused on the collaboration part of editing a web app. We're focused on helping users push changes to their web app as fast as possible, starting with copy. The "holy grail" use case for Refinery would be something like: get a few AI-powered suggestions on how to improve some copy -> pick one you like / tweak it a bit -> push the changes live immediately -> see site conversions go up
