Hi Everyone! Quiet Reader is a free Mac app that helps you read more calmly. I'd find myself skimming important emails or not reading with enough intent... I felt like my reading comprehension was getting worst. This app does 2 things well You can highlight ANY text from any app on your Mac and then press the key combo to just focus on that text to read. This was my main use case. You can also try it on any article in Chrome or Safari to take away all the ads If you're on a mac and have a few minutes, I'd love to hear your feedback. Hope it's useful and would LOVE to hear your feedback!

@navid_safabakhsh is this a hobby app or is there a business intent behind this? :)
Navid Safabakhsh
@chrismessina hobby for now but let's see if people dig it... if so, we'll turn it into a business... it's the model we followed for placeit. trying to see if people really care about this category / set of use cases

Hi @navid_safabakhsh that's a really cool project - it's so easy to get distracted when we have multiple tabs opened, notifications, ads, etc... -- One thing that made me curious: Is there a particular reason users need to have both the desktop app and the browser extension to be able to run the plugin? -- Quick feedback: It would be really nice to be able to bring up the entire page without needing to select the text first.

@dribeiro_8 Great question. So in order to be able to send the full article to Quiet Reader, we need something on the browser side. So if you press the command when you're on a tab, you'll see that it sends the whole article. Alternatively you can just highlight some text as well. Supports both use cases. Thanks for the comment
