What do you think? …

Update: We have launched our next version named AirWander! Greetings Hunters! – I’m one of the digital nomads that created QO. We are travelers that would choose a tent on an empty beach to an all-inclusive hotel. QuestOrganizer knows the optimal cities to add to any flight. Using machine-learning QO compares hundreds of possibilities for every connection & learns from each search you make. This gives you the ability to find savings by arranging the perfect combination of flights, multiple-book airfare. Flying is no longer only about getting directly to your destination, you can now enjoy the journey. We are thrilled to be on ProductHunt and can’t wait to hear your feedback! Here is a quick walkthrough: step-by-step
Joe Filcik
@inhabit_earth awesome! Looks super useful. What inspired you to focus on this? Feels like productizing some stuff I think I've heard @chrisguillebeau tak about. Was that the goal? Just had this thought that this is really a tool for "Accelerating the creation of a trip" with Machine Learning, just like Google Photos accelerates creation of cool photo presentations. I added this to my "Accelerated Creation" list - https://www.producthunt.com/@jfi....

@jfilcik @inhabit_earth I checked out @chrisguillebeau, it seems he is more about flying free by earning and using miles. However, he may have mentioned this concept of multi-booking. We were inspired by how we booked flights: we would try many combinations to different cities that could be a possible ‘stopover’. We were very dedicated and took multiple days, or weeks looking through possible routes that would allow us to save and visit another destination, but we never knew if we had found the optimal route or not. Many travelers use or have tried this technique, but previously it was tedious and time-consuming. We are excited to make this technique automated and now it’s easy for any traveler to see if they can find a better flight option with added (optimal) stops according to their specific search criteria, and possibly find the cheapest flight option.
Joe Filcik
@inhabit_earth Yea, that's awesome. I'll certainly try this next time I book a trip. Have you thought about taking hotel prices into account or the cost of living for the stopover city? It just occurs to me that it's the one factor that you haven't automatically taken into account.
Douglas Deming
@jfilcik @inhabit_earth Great, I hope QO can assist in finding you an epic quest and savings! That is a good idea, we will need to think about that and the best way to build that into the platform.
Spencer Yang
Tried to use the product and found a better deal than Skyscanner or Kayak for SG to SF. I wonder how that is done by the team.
Ela
@spenceryang I'm happy you like it :) I'm the Co-founder, we've put a lot of hard work to automate this time consuming flight search technique to enable travelers to create their own flight deal. Our application connects non-partnered, low-cost and route-specialized airlines to create savings and add extra destination to your trip at the same time.

Really like the idea of beating the price and finding a great stopover at the same time. That's killing two birds with one stone in style.
Douglas Deming
@carylyne Thanks, we are glad you like the idea. Also, a good analogy to describe QO :)
Will Samari
Really impressed with their approach to booking flights. I love the idea of finding great stop over destinations which in turn makes the trip less expensive.
Douglas Deming
@willsamari Thanks Will & also thanks for hunting us! We hope via QuestOrganizer more people will realize that stopovers are possible on any flight, all you need to do is find the right combination of separate flight bookings.
Anna Cates
@inhabit_earth I love the idea, it's really cool, but I have one question. The way the process works right now, does it only check for one way trips? I tried looking up a flight from Israel to Canada and back (no other destinations) and it gives me 2 separate flights I need to order. If I'm checking on the site that your system found and selecting a round trip, the price is much cheaper. Am I missing something?
Douglas Deming
@_annacates Yes, we offer only one-ways and you are missing the biggest savings potential. Try to add the top suggested extra destination, even for 0 day(s) and see how the price compares after selecting 2-4 one-ways? (There is a built in minimum 5 hour 'layover' time between flights). We will try to improve our interface to make this clear, and include RT route comparison.
Anna Cates
@inhabit_earth Thnx for the clarification. I did what you suggested, it turns out cheaper then "no extra destination" but still $390 more expansive then the regular round trip, so doesn't seem to be helpful if I just need to get A to B. With that said, if you are flexible as a traveler it is a very cool option for a spontaneous trip some place new. I would suggest going over the UI a bit to make it clearer (both this part and in general - the stops, what the list of flights is sorted by...) Good luck guys!
Douglas Deming
@_annacates Sorry, that didn’t find a savings. Thanks for the feedback it means alot coming from a person who specializes in user interaction. We are also glad that you like the concept! Yes, I found the same that from TLV to YOW our price including 'extra destinations' is around $250-$400 more than other tools compared to a RT in June, however by using QuestOrganizer in this situation you have the option to add New York, Toronto, Washington DC, Istanbul as an extra destination to your trip. The price savings is very dependent on the specific origin/destination/date and often times we do find a savings as compared to classic RT/one-way tickets. So I would still suggest searching for A to B options with 0 days (if short on time). We have a feature in the dev pipeline that may help out the ambiguity of "extra destinations". It will display price difference estimations for adding each extra destination. This should go live in a week, or at least by the end of the month. It hopefully will help to save the user time as in the circumstance of the TLV to YOW flight. Currently, the list is sorted by lowest predicted price. We will also consider other ways of making this more clear, and comparing other flight prices (RT, ect..) I hope we can get your feedback on future QO design changes :)
Anna Cates
@inhabit_earth Basically, its seems to me that you have 2 types of users right now: the one that is looking for the extra trip and the one that just wants to save money. What I would probably do is either focus on the aspect of the extra experience the user is getting using your product (after all, that's your unique thing) and not on the savings part, or if you're gonna focus on both, make it easy to compare a regular RT with the other options. If the user marks he doesn't care about extra destinations, it should treat the "0 days" as a layover and just show me the cheapest options including both different cities and RT. Anyways, that's just of the top of my head, you're living this product so you know what your users' goals are. Regarding feedback on future design changes, if you want, feel free to hit me up when it's relevant :)
Douglas Deming
@_annacates You make a good point that we should recognize our two types of users and if pursuing both to make sure their needs are fully satisfied by the search/results. We will keep this in mind. We will be reaching out to you when it's time. Thanks for your feedback!
Josue Gio
Amazing tool... i was testing it for the last months, is just great all the money that you can save using QuestOrganizer... this is “bridge“ between GDS airlines and Lowcost airlines...
Ela
@josuegio Thanks, we call our users 'Questers' as they go on a quest with the extra destinations. So, welcome to the community :)
Chris Puricelli
Great idea as I'm often doing this type of flight combinations. Just that I made a few quick comparisons and you was 60-80% more expensive than finding a multi city flight on Kayak... If you can get your prices competitive it would be a great tool!
Douglas Deming
@cpuricelli Glad you are already using this technique, sorry to hear you didn’t find savings on QO. There is always room to improve pricing and we are working on making additional partnerships. What search criteria (destinations, dates) are you testing? (It’s good for us to look into detail on comparisons to see aspects we are lacking e.g. specific airlines, ect)
Chris Puricelli
@inhabit_earth I checked Milan - New York - San Francisco: Kajak 765$, QuestOrganizer: 1,253$
Douglas Deming
@cpuricelli I conducted a multi-city search for Milan - New York - San Francisco: QuestOrganizer and Kayak found the same exact same Itinerary using Turkish Air and Sun Country. QuestOrganizer beat Kayak by $10.20 (probably commission added by eDreams, or maybe Kayak). I am not sure what day you looked for? Quest link: http://QuestOrganizer.com/quest/... comparison Could you give us any other examples that you compared and dates?
