Hello Product Hunt Community!
We are proud to introduce AirWander: A flight combination engine that finds multi-day stopovers, and unique cheap flights.
AirWander predicts the cost of adding optimal multi-day stopovers. Then, checks all possible flight combinations (using multiple one-ways, multiple round-trips, or multi-city with our without one-ways) to show you the cheapest options. AirWander also finds EPIC optimal World-Tour flights.
We look forward to hearing what you think, and appreciate all feedback about our latest app!
This is such a great idea. Love the identity and design too. Maybe the date picking is an extra step in the selection that feels a little clunky? I think the date screen could come up as a smaller widget and disrupt the experience a little less, but I love the idea and how you guys have executed it. Definitely will be using soon :)
@nicksmithr Glad you like it!
AirWander's design, branding, and identity was done by the excellent Manon Gruaz and Tristan Gevaux. They are also avid travelers.
We will look into making the date picker more of a fluid integration. Thanks for the suggestion :)
I LOVE this. @suzywillow and I recently traveled to Lisbon and Bulgaria. In between we had a 6 hour layover in Frankfurt, which was a joy to explore briefly. Will explore this before my next long distance trip.
@rrhoover Thanks Ryan! We hope AirWander can help arrange some longer stays in some incredible cities for your future flights :D

Awesome site guys! Here a little one I noticed just now not sure if a bug. Try to load the site, change the filter to "World Tour" then put it back to "Round-trip". I think a stopover field is enabled and it shouldn't.
Ah I'm glad to see this - a few years ago @tadhgpearson, @brianshaler, @kylekahveci and I built Playover (http://gillian.im/2014/03/weeken...) at a hackathon to do the exact same thing. It wasn't as pretty but is actually still live at http://playover.herokuapp.com. I'm glad someone's put some more product thought into this and built a robust version for the world! I'll certainly be checking for upcoming trips to Europe/Africa.
@gillianim We are really glad you like it! It is awesome that you had this similar idea near the same time as the beginning of our project. It is also cool that Playover has continued to work since then maintenance free, it must be well built ;) We thought you would like an update as we have discussed Playover in QuestOrganizer PH post, and in SF at travel tech con.
We started our plans for a multi-booking flight search engine to add stopovers in Nov 2013, a couple months after a 8-month backpacking trip in South America. We used multi-booking to flights for added stops and savings in Panama, and other cities afterwards. But, it was very time-consuming to manually combine and guess destinations. and knew it had to be automated to make it faster, and truly optimal.
We hope to meet up with you sometime in SF!
Gorgeous UI and fantastic idea. :) One teeny tiny itty bitty minor UI issue... it doesn't always display cents as two digits, so anything rounded to a dime looks a little weird:
@mdesjardins Really glad you like it! That does look odd. I think this is related to when there is a multiple of 10, as in ".50" is displayed as ".5". We will work on having the 2nd digit to always appear.
Thanks for reporting this!
