The idea of a powered mask was brought to us by our backer community during our original purME campaign. Back then some of our backers suggested adding a fan to increase the airflow. We embraced this idea, started exploring the technology and finally came up with purME Air! This unique mask solves 4 common mask-related problems at once: breathability, protection, sterilization and comfort. Featuring twin turbines, it makes your breathing safe and easy by constantly supplying you with fresh and filtered air. With its 3 modular protection levels—FFP2, KN95 and P100—purME Air can indeed replace all your existing masks. So depending on your environment and needs you choose whether you need 80%, 95%, or 99.9% protection against pollutants, allergens, dust, viruses and other harmful microorganisms. In fact, the HEPA filters that come with purME Air mask have been certified by third-party SGS Labs — the world's leading inspection, verification, testing, and certification company — to FFP1 and KN95 standards, both for filtration and airflow. With purME Air you also don’t need to wash your mask! Simply turn on the built-in UV-C LED while you’re not wearing it and the mask will remove all the microorganisms and odor on its inside in under 5 minutes. No FFP2? As FFP2 is the standard for most EU countries, and the minimum requirement for even some parts (a.e. Germany), FFP1 would be too less. Awesome product design and quite the nice idea! I wish you a lot of success.

Obvious question here, is it effective against covid-19? I assume it is if it block out 99.5% of microorganisms.

@jack_davis7 Yes, it is effective against covid-19. purME Air comes with FFP2/KN95-rated HEPA filters internally. Filters are over 99.5% effective at keeping out common bacteria, viruses, as well as airborne allergens down to 0.1- 0.3um. Also, the mask features a UV-C unit for self-cleaning, beside protection with FFP2/KN95
