Hi, I'm Gabe. I built Precleared because my own outreach agents were about to email people and I couldn't tell, address by address, whether that was allowed.
In the UK the answer turns on a fact you can't see in the email address: is the recipient a limited company or a sole trader? One can be cold emailed with the right footer, the other usually needs consent first. So Precleared looks the company up live on Companies House and applies PECR and UK GDPR. It does the same job for the US (CAN-SPAM), Canada (CASL), Germany, France, Australia, Ireland and the Netherlands.
One call per recipient returns a verdict (ok_to_email, consent_needed, blocked or unknown), the rule that decided it with the legal source quoted, what the footer must include, a next step and a signed receipt anyone can open at precleared.dev/r. The receipt proves what was asked and answered. It doesn't prove an email was sent, and it isn't legal advice.
It already runs inside Harvey, the open-source AI sales agent, there are apps for Apollo and HubSpot, and there are recipes for Clay, n8n, Make and Zapier. Or add precleared.dev/mcp to Claude or Cursor and ask whether you can email someone.
Every new key gets 14 days at 100 checks a day, no card. After that it's 25 a day free, or £15 a month for 100 a day.
I'd love to know which country you need next, what you'd want on the receipt page, and what would make it worth paying for.
