Over the past few weeks, people have used an AI tool I built to upload their insurance policies and ask questions like: “Will this surgery actually be covered?” “How much would I pay from my pocket?” What surprised me wasn’t the questions. It was realizing how many people pay premiums for years without truly understanding what their policy covers. The idea came from watching a friend’s family during a medical emergency. At the hospital, instead of focusing on recovery, they were trying to understand terms like room rent capping, waiting period, co-pay, exclusions... And the family kept asking anxious questions like: “Will this be covered?” “How much do we need to pay ourselves?” “Why is this excluded?” That experience stayed with me and made me realize something: People don’t just want insurance. They want clarity before they actually need it. So I built PolicyVibe — a tool that simplifies health insurance policies. Interestingly, few people I know used the app before buying insurance and went back to their agents with much better questions. Still very early, but exciting to see people already finding value in it.
