Unlock the Knowledge Trapped in Podcasts
Ever found yourself thinking, "I know I heard it in a podcast, but which one?", "Which podcast and which episode talks about the topic I'm curious about?", We did too. That's why we built PodQuest.
Podcasts are a goldmine of insights, but they're trapped in audio:
- You can't Ctrl+F through voice
- Episode titles and shownotes miss 90% of the content
- Hours of valuable knowledge remain hidden and unsearchable
We've turned podcast audio into a searchable knowledge base:
- Instantly find any topic discussed across thousands of episodes
- Jump directly to the exact moment you're looking for
- Discover insights buried deep within conversations
Think of it as Google for spoken content. Whether you're:
- A student looking for that perfect quote
- A professional seeking industry insights
- Or just trying to find that hilarious story you half-remember
You can now search podcasts as easily as you search the web.
Key Features:
- π Full-text and semantic search across all podcast content
- β‘ Instant playback from any search result
- π― Precision timestamps and transcript
- π° Completely free, no premium tier
Congrats on the launch! π I asked a question about Sam Harris, and the result was fantastic. It pulled out several super related clips. Love the search interface with the typeahead and how the results load in. I was surprised not to see a transcript for the clips though, that'd be useful.
How does it get all these transcripts in real time? Do you have the transcripts saved from a limited number of popular podcasts? I tried a question from a more niche podcast and didn't get an answer to that.

@jonnymiles Thank you a lot for you feedback! Glad to know the Sam Harris search worked well for you!
Currently, we have pre-processed transcripts for a selection of popular podcasts, and we're actively expanding our coverage based on user queries. For episodes that aren't pre-processed, users can request transcription, which we then add to our searchable database.
The transcription job is not done in real time but is executed periodically. For now, the total number of transcripts is limited, as we haven't yet determined which podcasts have the most users demanding transcripts.
