No one should invest alone. Pluto is the social investing app for you and your friends. See their portfolios, get notified when they trade and discuss the latest opportunities while investing free of commissions.
@edouardpetit pretty much same thesis, but different geographical focus. Last but not least very different ways of building companies!!

This seems awesome!
My first take when reading the description was “Finally”. I have been struggling for years trying to coinvest with friends from our own bank accounts, and krepning track of things in different Excel sheets. Which is horrible.
Now I’ve downloaded the app and are really happy to see the easy and great UX built into it.
Question: is it correctly understood, that I can trade fractional shares on Pluto?
@jakob_mk thanks a lot! We have talked with many users who want to act like an investment club which is one reason why we've added features like copy-trading.
Yes, it is correctly understood and we're excited to roll this out across Scandinavia in 2023!
Thanks @mwseibel for hunting.
I'm Oscar, the CTO & 2nd co-founder at Pluto. Just like @joakim_bruchmann I wanted to quickly introduce myself and explain my personal reasons for building this beautiful multiplayer investment app that we started working on a little over a year ago. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reply and I'll do my best to answer!
Being a software engineer based in Denmark, I decided to start investing a few years back. The solutions available to me were all founded in the 90's and something as simple as buying a stock was difficult. I felt defeated - am I really that stupid? When searching for Apple, 4 options showed up (Apple listed on NASDAQ, Apple listed in Germany, and Apple CFD and Apple options). Which one is right for me?
I Googled it, and learned that NASDAQ was what I was looking for. I then wanted to buy it and once again felt overwhelmed. Do I want a limit order, market order, stop loss order, VWAP order, TWAP order, trailing stop etc.?
This is probably where most would have given up. But I decided to reach out to Joakim and ask these basic questions. How do I buy a stock and is Apple the right buy right now? We then started sparring and talked stocks, the macro environment, risk tolerance and measured our performances against each other.
This made me comfortable and enabled me to grow as an investor in a way that was not only financially profitable - it was also great fun.
The foundation for Pluto was laid, and so we started building. Please let me know what you think about the outcome! 💙

I do invest my money in stocks and by looking at your product i feel it would be better if you can add startups investment too (Just a thought). btw good luck bro.
@adam_sorted great to hear! There's oftentimes better investors in groups, but usually even the "bad investors" have deep knowledge about some industry that the rest of the group can benefit from!
Nice, I can't wait til you launch in Europe. I suggest you start in the Netherlands and the UK, which have a rich history of financial apps and a more significant investor community than France and Germany.
@jas801 hi Jasper! Thanks for your inputs! We will be rolling out from the Nordics since this is where we're based and the regions remains dominated by legacy incumbents. Are you based in the Netherlands yourself? What do you think about our product for your regional market?
@joakim_bruchmann, Almost all my guy friends do some form of investing. Therefore I assume that investing is a hot topic in the Netherlands, but maybe I am biased. Everybody I know went to university.
Then If I see the number of fintech companies that started in the Netherlands Peaks, Tikkie, Mollie, Ideal, Wie Betaald Wat(the Dutch version of Splitwise), and Bunq bank, I always assume that we are very money conscious.
The proverb lets share the cost, comes from the inherent nature of dutch people to be stingy.
Also, we have been a trading nation since the 17th century, everywhere money is to be made. You will find dutch people, so your platform will be received with open arms.
I am not familiar with the investment culture of Scandinavian countries, but I know that our oversea neighbors in the UK are even more money conscious. I have met some Swedish and Norwegian people, and my sister lives in Finland, and in all of my conversations with them, they never started talking about investing or personal finance.
Then again, maybe they love investing and aren't open about
@jas801 great thoughts. I would however think that countries where money is still taboo is where we can help most people getting started investing! But naturally it's a trade off. What do you think about that point of view?
@joakim_bruchmann
Some questions you could ask yourself:
Would you rather go for low-hanging fruit or high-hanging fruit?
Your app is based on the premise that people are already convinced that investing is a good idea.
Motivating and educating people to start investing is another game that people best play in the personal finance scene; you are operating from Fintech, which helps those who are already money conscious.
If I were you, I would run a couple of pilot tests in the UK, Netherlands, and Nordic countries. Just runs some ads and see which audience converts best.
One of my growth marketing principles is always to let the data decide.
After you have a steady inflow of low-hanging fruit, you could move to the high fruit. Every country has different cultural taboos around investing; these aren’t easily broken. Henceforth it would help if you had a lot of experiments in copy, and channel, which images/videos to associate.
Market penetration is more complex than most people assume. Still, I believe it is easier when you have a steady inflow on the European Continent because you can always refer to their neighbors. Being a European, we don’t want to be associated at ALL with Americans.
@joakim_bruchmann
Congratulations on the launch ,This is an amazing concept, definitely going to disrupt the market,
Hoping to see this soon in markets other than NASDAQ
@mayank_malviya004 thanks - we hope (and think) you're right!
We currently offer stocks and ETFs in fractions and free of comissions. Soon we'll launch crypto and ADRs from other global exchanges.
Any particular assets you would want to see?
