@davemorin much appreciated! Got your message and I believe our product manager is in touch with Brit :)
Can't explain how much this means to us. Would be great to keep in touch!
@ow good question. This is something we ask ourselves almost daily, but then we look at Slack and it's growing incredibly fast.
This makes us believe that there's room for modern, better chat apps where users don't have to deal with as much noise as they are used to with more traditional apps with broad-topic chat rooms.
The main way we aim to differentiate from guys like Slack and HipChat is through our less noisy and more on-topic chat experience as well as by our polished and playful design.
@ugurkaner Thanks for commenting. It's pretty impressive how Slack managed to launch on so many devices. I guess they had lots of time to built stuff with the funding they initially raised for Glitch! ;)
Pie is built with Angular and is super responsive so mobile web should work pretty smooth. Try the web version of Pie on iPad, almost feels native! :)
Our native mobile app - iOS - is about 2 weeks out, so please stay tuned.

Not really sure what the value on this is over something like HipChat (for a more R&D-driven business) or Chatter / Yammer (for a more sales-focused business).
Yes, the interface is nice, but all of the aforementioned competitors offer feature parity (aside from perhaps the #hashtags) and far more value-add, such as integration with JIRA/Crucible in HipChat and integration with Salesforce in Chatter.
As others mentioned, the branding is slick and the messaging is clear, but what isn't is the unique value prop.
I'd need more convincing to earn the up vote on this one.
@PieterPaul as much as I'd love to just jump in and try it, I know my coworkers wouldn't come with me unless there was clear instruction to use it. Getting everyone into Hipchat took us like 2 months, but now we love it.
I fear my perception of the service would be skewed by the lack of interaction I find there, and I'd quickly revert back to posting to Hipchat. Not out of preference, but because that's where I'd get replies.
Bummmmer.
@PieterPaul dunno if it's related to you but yesterday HipChat announced the unlimited user plan.
I suppose we the market is really growing, do your best to keep up!
Great choice about Angular (I'm thinking of improving my app with that later on).
