Slightly less friendly this time but still trying not to sound like a jerk since I actually liked this client and want more work from them. Another week goes by. Now I'm sitting there rewriting the first line of an email four times because I don't want to sound like I'm accusing anyone of anything, even though at this point I kind of am. 43 days after the due date it just... gets paid. No explanation. No sorry for the wait. Just a payment notification like nothing happened. Honestly the late payment doesn't even bother me that much anymore. What gets me is being my own collections department every time. I like designing stuff and building campaigns that actually work. I do not like drafting increasingly less patient emails wondering if I'm being too pushy or not enough. So I built a small tool for myself called PaidYet that just handles the follow up part.
