You send an important Gmail and don’t know if it was opened. OpenTrace is a Chrome extension for people who follow up with clients, invoices, or applications — not bulk mail. Turn Tracking on in compose, send as usual, get a Chrome notification and open count. Free: 20 emails/month. Pro adds a dashboard, history, and reminders. We never store the email body.

Hey Hunt — I built OpenTrace. It’s live on the Chrome Web Store.
It’s Gmail read receipts for mail you actually care about. In compose you turn Tracking on, then Send. We add a small tracking image to that email only. When it’s opened you get a Chrome notification and a count. The popup shows Sent, Opened, and Pending.
Free is 20 tracked emails a month. Pro is the full dashboard (history, reminders, analytics). Cancel anytime.
We never store the email body — only subject, recipient, and open signals. Opt-in per send. Not a cold-email or spam tool.
Opens aren’t perfect: some apps block images. We filter many self-opens when you’re signed in.
