A free chord progression builder and chord finder for guitar. Write progressions on an open canvas, in Standard, DADGAD, Open G, drop tunings or a custom tuning you build yourself — every shape re-voices itself when the tuning changes. Works in your browser, no account.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I kept losing track of chord shapes every time I switched guitar tunings — DADGAD, drop tunings, open tunings all mean re-learning the same progression by hand. That annoyance is basically the whole reason Open—Shape exists.
The canvas treats a tuning, a capo, and each chord as connected objects instead of static diagrams. Change the tuning node once and every chord downstream re-voices itself, computed live by a chord-voicing engine rather than looked up from a chart — it searches every playable fingering and picks the best one, and you can page through alternatives per chord.
It started as just a chord finder; the canvas came later once I realized the real problem wasn't finding one chord, it was keeping a whole progression consistent across a tuning change. Free to use, with a one-time Pro upgrade for unlimited canvases and saved progressions. Also on iOS.
Would love feedback, especially from anyone who plays in alternate tunings a lot — what's confusing, what's missing, what tuning to add next.
