The dashboard-from-databases play is the right one — most knowledge tools die when they remain a stack of documents instead of becoming a state surface for the project. Once a CFO can read project-finance economics off a Notion dashboard the way they read off a finance model, the workspace stops being a wiki and starts being the source of truth. We've been chasing the same shape on ModeLoop (modeloop.net/?i=1) for project-finance models — the value isn't the cells, it's the dashboard layer that compresses 200 tabs into one IRR and three sensitivities. Question: how do Notion 3.4's dashboards handle versioning when underlying database rows change retroactively? That's the painful part in finance — restating a number a month later is a different operation than updating it forward.
The dashboard view was the missing piece for Notion as a real ops tool. Curious how the AI chart generation handles ambiguous data — does it ask for clarification or just makes a call? That's usually the UX challenge with AI-generated visuals
