Does the hourly rate calculator account for the actual days you'd realistically bill in a year, or does it assume full 220 working days?
@arindfxh Great question, that assumption is exactly the trap this calculator is built to avoid. 🙂
It doesn't assume a fixed 220 days. You set three things: working weeks per year (default 46, so vacation and downtime come out), hours per week (default 40), and the one most people forget: the share of time that's actually billable. Default is 50%, because admin, quotes, emails and sales eat the rest. There's also an optional safety margin (default 15%) added on top of the minimum rate.
So with defaults it plans around ~920 billable hours a year, not 1,760+. Every assumption is an editable field, and the formula is shown right next to the result so you can sanity-check it.
Curious if the 50% billable default matches your experience, that's the number I debated most when building it.
