Neat gives you an open-ended file manager in the cloud: integrate Google Drive, GitHub, and Slack to visualize your assets in one canvas. Control, find, preview, and open any resource. Use keyboard shortcuts to get to what you want 10x faster.
Hey you! 👋
Thank you for checking out Neat! We hope you will find something interesting here and we cannot wait to hear your feedback.
Neat is a response to the busy world of file, team, and even knowledge management. We are a group of engineering students, programmers, and visual thinkers. We found the products we use everyday to be getting visually bloated and boxy.
This inspired Neat: a highly visual “file tree” but for way more than files.
🤖 Add Google Drive resources, Google Docs, GitHub repos, notes, and ultra-HD selfies in one place, organized as you see fit.
👯 Collaborate with teammates in real time by sharing a project.
🎹 Keyboard shortcuts are built into every action: explore your tree and create, delete, preview, or open resources faster than you can sneeze into your elbow.
This is our first Product Hunt launch and so we are looking for your most gruelling feedback! We hope to learn from you so we can deliver better products in the future. Our longer-term vision is to build a human-centered tool for navigating the knowledge stored in organizations (a problem we think has become more urgent with the boom in remote work!)
What can you do? If you spend too much time jumping between tabs and searching Google Drive, please request access and we’ll DM you. Feedback? Ideas? Just want to talk to someone? Feel free to reach out to info@getneat.io.
Happy making,
Neat Team

@getneat@tedspare Looks interesting. Sent a request to be an early adopter
Wow this is cool! We keep documentation in Notion because it's more visual/easy to navigate than in Google Drive folders but this sort of removes the need for that?
@mattcrail Thanks, Matthew! We love using Notion for documentation. That said, we figured Notion's UI is clean but keeps everything in boxes. We saw a need for visualization! We're building all the same capabilities as Notion (markdown, sharing) for folks who think more visually, plus the power to control tools.
I've been using Neat for a couple months, it's honestly the fastest way to explore files across different tools. The value prop gets stronger with each new integration. Excited to see where this goes!
@maxmusing Thanks so much, Max! It's been great having you try Neat. We can't wait to share upcoming integrations with you.

I have been using neat since the internal release.
After multiple tests for my personal use, there is one thing that comes straightforward about it !
Tree organization for project is so innovative and makes everything more convenient.
I’m not a dev even if I code from times to times, but the latest integration of GitHub will make the app the perfect product for Agile teams with the tree organization, the slack integration and the files sharing thru google drive.
Test neat and you will be seduced !
@yacineth Thank you for the comment Yacine! It's good to hear that Neat can be used for Agile teams.
We hope the tree organization appeals to a wide audience (dev and non-devs included). Let us know what integrations you'd like to see next!

I've been using Neat for the past month and I've had nothing but position experiences! It integrates seamlessly with Slack and Google Drive which makes collaboration with team members quick and efficient. In addition, it's a great tool to be able to visualize complex systems or even just ideas with the easy-to-use and visually appealing "tree" structure. I look forward to seeing the growth of NEAT!
@rahul_a Great to hear, Rahul. We're thrilled to have you try Neat and glad you're enjoying it so far. Looking forward to expanding the product to more integrations (such as email) to better suit your workflow.

Looks really cool, looking for a something in Google Drive is so annoying ! Curious to see how it works on Slack, I can't picture it. Just requested an early access :-)
@clara_zaoui1 We felt the same way. Right now, we have a one-way Slack integration that allows you to quickly pick a channel or a recipient from a drop-down menu and send a message from Neat. We've built this here so that you don't have to open a new slack app to send a quick message. We are planning on making this two-way soon and will also add more functionality (notifications etc.) so stay tuned for that. We'll get in touch with you :)

I've been part of the private beta of Neat, and it's a great platform to peer into the structure of information while also speeding up information retrieval and access (seriously, gone are the days of slowly navigating to a google drive sub-sub(7x)-folder). I came to the platform because I was interested in its ability to bridge the gap in an information driven environment (a student rocketry team) between old-timers and new members by making visible parts of the tacit, invisible organizational process.
Neat is an answer to the organizational issue of "knowing what our knowledge is", which helps both project management and training!
@julien_otis_laperriere Thanks for the comment, Julien! Deeply nested Drive folders had us feeling lost. We hope your team is able to use Neat in the upcoming semester as many classes and campus activities go online.
You hit the nail on the head with the problem. Our longer-term goal is to make an organization's tacit (experiential) knowledge more accessible, to allow members to get up to speed and start generating new knowledge faster.
