Hey everyone! 🙌 Truth is, myReach launched 1.5 years ago. At least, the Beta version did. Many people asked us... "Where's the Product Hunt launch?" Full confession: Our focus was on building the App. Making it better. There was always more we could do. New features. More integrations... I thought we weren't ready for Product Hunt. I was nervous. I'm still nervous. But I've learnt that there's never a ✨perfect✨ moment. You just have to go for it. So here we go! 1.5 years and +6.2k users later... myReach PERFORMANCE NOTICE – due to the amazing response we've had from all of you, our AI is currently flooded with petitions! We never expected this level of work load. To give you an idea, we are currently processing more than 16'000 items this very moment! 😅 Our servers are trying to keep up with the load – learning and processing everything as quickly as possible – but that means if you save something, it might take a bit of time for our AI to learn it. We are working on scaling the servers but it might take a bit of time until we get them set up... Thank you Hunters for your support and patience 🚀

Currently we integrate and import data from Evernote, Pocket, Google Docs, Dropbox paper, Quip, Phone contacts, Google Map Pins, Browser Bookmarks, and Zappier. In addition to that, we equally offer database import through a CSV. That being said we are working on multiple other integrations that we will be releasing in the next few weeks – the most game changing ones will be Google Drive and Gmail! Are there any other tools that you would find useful for us to integrate? With regards to what you can save and search – virtually "all" your digital knowledge (files, websites, notes, pictures, scanned documents, audio, video, contacts, locations, etc...). When you save something we use different strategies to process it and extract all relevant content so you can easily then search for it or query it through our chat. I wrote a longer post below in response to another user which you might find interesting :) Hope you enjoy using myReach and if you have any questions let us know!! :D

Hey everyone, here’s a quick insight from an early user of myReach! I really started using myReach last year during my second year as a Law University Student, and this app did in fact change things for me and so here are a few areas where myReach helped me : 1. Data organization : I was finally able to quit the endless and ever so complex “folder-trees” in my finder, using myReach as my main database, wher all my stuff is intelligently linked together, pretty much like the humain brain as myReach like to call it! That was a very welcome relief! 2. Searching : Having all your data intelligently interconnected combined with the precise help of the integrated “Personal Chat-GPT” A.I makes looking for precise things quite easy, say one exact notion that I know I worked on in the first semester and that I now need for my pre-exams revisions, ask myReach, and it’ll find everything related to that notion, without having to look individually in all your folders and documents! (Yes, it can find stuff into PDF’s, ppt’s, docx’s etc… really handy!) 3. Summary making : The note taker is quite smart and allows you to basically add quick-links to “nodes” which represent data in your myReach. For example : In a contracts-law class summary, at some point in time, the word “contract” or “law” will surely show up, and with the mention-feature in the note taker, you can click these words and myReach will give you more info related to them in your personal data-base. Which is really useful to connect different concepts, subjects and finally classes together! Isnt’it what summaries are for? TLDR : myReach is a really interesting personal-focused, empowered by A.I way of storing, searching and treating your data and has worked for me during a full intense year of law school, from in-class notes to pre-exam revisions. It takes a bit of a learning curve to fully understand it but once you get it, it becomes really useful!

We developed myReach as a mobile first solution, however due to the extensive ask from our community we started adapting all the designs to desktop! As you will see, if you login from your desktop browser, there is still a lot of section we need to finish adapting – every couple of weeks we do an update improving the desktop experience! In the next couple of months we should have the entire product adapted! 🚀

Congrats, @reach_chris and team! 6.2k users is amazing. One quick feedback point to take or leave: in your privacy policy, section 6: "Will Your Information be Shared with Anyone?" - some of the points / policies may be a little confusing to the average privacy-conscious user, the way they're written now. Not sure if possible to lay them out in a more straightforward way but I always appreciate that as someone who reviews privacy policies before signing up for a product (esp. this section on how information is shared with third parties).

Thank you for highlighting that maybe some of the points in our P&P aren't fully clear, will look into it with the lawyers. In the meantime, I just wrote a response to a user below asking something very similar. Here are some details on what we do to ensure your data Privacy - We are currently in the process of getting the ISO 27001 certification for our Information Security Management System. If you are from the US its similar to the SOC2 Type 2. - To ensure your data always stays within our firewalls and servers we self host ALL the AI models used to process, extract and “learn” your data. The only time we use a third party provider is to answer questions asked to Rich, our chatbot. When you ask a question our AI identifies the most relevant pieces of data that best answer your question and uses OpenAI API to generate the written response. That being said its important to note that we have a data processing agreement signed with Open AI with all the guarantees required by the applicable regulations, which acts as a data processor. In future we hope to equally self host our own LLM but we haven’t yet found one as good as theirs. - If you are interested in the more technical side, we encrypt your data aligning with industry-tested and accepted standards. We use TLS 1.3 to encrypt and protect your data in transit. The SSL certificate for the myReach platform uses a 2048-bit RSA key. The mix of ciphers suites and TLS protocols provides a balance of strong encryption for browsers that support it and backward compatibility for legacy clients that need it. In addition to the above, myReach also uses AES-256 bit encryption to secure your database connection credentials and data stored at rest.   Hope that clears up your concerns – if you have any further questions please let me know :)

I'm so excited to check this out! However I'm concerned about the data collection practices in the privacy policy given the inherently private nature of the data users will put into the service. Chris, could you please elaborate on the approach myReach is taking to ensure the security of user data? Additionally, how do you justify the data collection and sharing with third parties?
