Curious to hear the story behind MyCuteFriend, @a5steve. The dating market is super competitive (in more ways than one). Why did you decide to tackle it? cc @Noah_L
MyCuteFriend has an interesting twist on dating. It puts women in control. As a male, you must be "approved" by another woman to get access to the service. Women browse men's profiles without restriction and select those they want to connect with. Once selected, those men can view their profile and agree to connect. If both opt-in, a chat conversation is opened similar to Tinder.
I've been playing with MyCuteFriend for the past ~week. It's satisfying when I receive a push notification informing me some lady "thinks I'm cute." :)
Super interesting. I found Lulu to be a very interesting app, but they failed to make the personal connection between people.

@rrhoover -- why am I cc-ed here? :) But Steve's a great guy. Crowded space, so would be great to hear how @a5steve views the space and how he is tackling the opportunity.

Thanks @rrhoover! Been organizing fun offline events for our friends for years. Such a thrill to help our friends connect with others on both a social & professional level. Wanted to find a way to help others connect even when we weren't hosting events.
A friend pitched the concept of 'MyCuteFriend' and I signed on almost immediately to help with the project as it addressed many of the issues our friends had with dating sites/apps.
Still very early for us, so hoping to get some feedback from you and others on how we can improve!
On a side note we've been hearing about some amazingly awesome 1st/2nd dates that our friends have been going on with guys/girls they met through our app since we launched last week... without all the juicy details of course :)
