Hey Product Hunt!

I'm excited to share Musevise with you today!

Why I built this
As an art enthusiast, I often found myself curious about artworks I encountered online but struggled to find information quickly. I wanted to make art appreciation more accessible and educational for everyone.

Initially, I wanted to build a system that could recognize an artwork directly from an image — something closer to “image-to-image” search rather than keyword search. However, since such visual search APIs are still limited in accuracy and availability, I decided to take a different approach. Musevise uses a vision-language model to convert an artwork image into descriptive text (image-to-text), and then retrieves contextual information to enrich your understanding. This approach turned out to be surprisingly powerful and flexible.

What Musevise does
- Upload any artwork image or paste a URL
- AI-powered analysis identifies the artist, title, and artistic elements
- Automatically enriches your understanding with Wikipedia context
- Works with paintings, sculptures, and various art forms

How it works
Simply visit the site, upload an image, and let our AI do the rest. The analysis combines Claude's vision capabilities with Wikipedia's rich database to give you instant insights.

Mobile-friendly
Works seamlessly on mobile devices — upload images directly from your camera roll!

What's next
Currently, Musevise automatically serves Japanese Wikipedia content for Japanese browsers. I'm working on expanding this to support multiple languages, so everyone can explore art in their native language!

I'd love to hear your feedback! What features would make Musevise more useful for you?
Try it out and let me know what you think!
