Hey!
I'm the solo developer behind mmory.
I started building it because I kept forgetting random things throughout the day. Not big, important notes that I'd sit down and write, but the little things. Something someone mentioned, an idea I had while walking, something I needed to remember later.
I tried using Notes and voice memos, but the problem was always finding things again.
So I built mmory.
The idea is pretty simple: hold to record a thought, let it save, and ask about it whenever you need it. You can also type memories, search through your Library, and set reminders.
One thing I really wanted was privacy. That's why I put so much effort into making transcription and AI processing work on the iPhone rather than sending your recordings off to a server.
It's been a lot of building, testing and learning, and this is my first time launching something like this.
I'd genuinely love feedback, especially on two things:
Would you actually use something like this in your daily life?
What's the one thing that would make it useful enough to keep coming back?
Thanks for checking it out. I'll be around to answer questions and hear your thoughts! 🙌
@dhruvd congrats on the launch! can you access the notes via siri?
@heyitsirenechan Thanks Irene! 😊 Not through Siri just yet, but Siri integration is actually planned for our next update!
For now, you can ask Mmory about anything you’ve saved directly within the app.
Curious though, would you find it more useful to save memories through Siri, or ask Siri to retrieve them?
@dhruvd Both! Although retrieve is more important for me. I like to get a summary of my notes. It's really helpful when looking back at my ahem memories.
@heyitsirenechan That's actually a fantastic idea, Irene!
Being able to ask Siri to retrieve and summarise your memories would be incredibly useful, especially for a completely hands-free experience.
I hadn't considered the summarisation aspect of Siri integration, so I'm definitely adding that to what we're exploring.
Really appreciate you sharing this feedback.
Good launch! Being a solo developer isn't easy.
Looks cool, but I'm afraid of another siloed "notes" - how do you plan to make this a part of my digital ecosystem?
@knolladrian Thanks Adrian! Really appreciate that, and it's a very fair concern!
I definitely don't want Mmory to become another siloed notes app either. The vision is to make capturing and retrieving thoughts effortless, while letting those memories flow into the tools you already use.
I'm exploring integrations with Obsidian, Notion, Apple Shortcuts, and Apple Notes, alongside open-format exports so your memories are never locked into Mmory (to start with). Privacy and user control will remain central to how these integrations work.
Curious, what tools are currently part of your workflow? Would love to know which integrations would be most useful!
Can I find an old voice note if I only remember what it was about?
@alicia_verrando Yes! That’s actually one of the main reasons I built Mmory
You don’t need to remember the exact words you used. If you’ve saved something in Mmory, you can just ask about what you remember.
For example, if you recorded a restaurant recommendation weeks ago, you could simply ask “What was that restaurant someone recommended?” and Mmory can find the relevant memory.
