Moshe Hogeg,co-founder of Yo and Mobli posted this app on his facebook wall. MIRAGE is a ONE tap messaging app that lets you send UNRECORDED photo, video, text and voice messages.Messages are viewed once and then they’re gone . Sounds like snapchat!
Is it possible TapTalk loses out here due to a stronger marketing push from Mirage? Facebook/Instagram is also releasing "Bolt" soon (which is said to also be a TapTalk copy cat).
What has TapTalk's growth been like? It seems like they've been relying on organic growth, but may need to step up the marketing if they want to hang.
Yo, the UI of MIRAGE was 100% inspired by taptalk, I do believe that small differences make a world of change. MIRAGE allows you to send disappearing content even to users that DONT have the app (via SMS link that would open your browser and will disappear after they see it),
There's also texts, voice notes and groups (soon).
Give it a try to see what I'm talking about.
PS - ProductHunt rocks.
@moshehogeg thanks, Moshe, and I appreciate the honesty. I'm a huge Taptalk fan. @ogtfaber and team have created a fantastic product and novel interaction that I expect to see replicated more often.
What's the plan with MIRAGE? You're still working on Mobli, right?

Yo! I haven't tried Taptalk because you can't even get started without the username of a friend. I just signed up for Mirage and sent messages to friends who don't have the app (but will likely become users). Friction vs. growth. I don't think friction is what you're looking for in a messaging app.
